Description
I was walking on the border of a maple trees forest when suddenly a bird quits the mattress of dead leaves of the soil to go to perch in a branch not too far.

What a surprise ! A common nighthawk ! 16 years walking the nature and never had one that close at the daylight.

At that time, I needed to go arround in order to avoid a possible nest on the soil to get closer to the bird. Eggs, youngs and the adult nighthawk are champions to camouflage on the ground.

This bird is a female because it doesn't have the white stripe on the tail, which is not obvious on that picture.
