I wish I had the time to develop the manifestation of Cecilia's fear more. I had this huge chunk of script here and it got cut to the beginning and the ending of that exchange. CURSE YOU, EDITING FLOOR!

Also, hey look! Frost's mom! Y'all's favorite character.

I find it interesting that I think Moscorn's fears and Frost's fears come from a very similar source, but manifest in entirely different ways. At least, as I've portrayed them here. I dearly hope I haven't completely screwed up my interpretation of Moscorn. I feel like I'm only able to scrape the surface of Rillid's characters. AAAAAAHhhhhh Rillid I'm sorry if this is totally wrong!!!

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

...

First off, I love the feel you've given this set. Dark, dreary, gloomy and eerie. I also love how Cecilia and Frost get separated; illusions always do well in that, and I do like how you kept it from our point of view, where we don't see what she's seeing. It makes a bigger impact that way.

Poor Frost. His life meant nothing...and his mother is one bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep-blee-bl-bleeeeeeep.

You did well in creating a character we all hate.

I feel sorry for them all, honestly. Poor Moscorn, Cecilia, Frost...having to face their fears and (it seems) being beat by them.

Fears are powerful, and facing them just rips us apart. You're showing that here nicely, and I just want them to beat their fears into a bloody pulp.

...

Not going t'happen any time soon...

ANYHOW

Keep going, keep it up, beat up our favorite characters some more and let us snarl at those who are doing the beating.

woot.

Fear is a subject that I have put a LOT of thought into over the years. I was really excited when I found out what Oberon's Garden could do. I'm glad I have the chance to explore it now.

Wow. I've been saying this ever since the woman showed up but...WHAT A BITCH.
Her and Bathory need to do tea parties together...Tea of the pure bitchiness.

But off her, I love this. The expressions, the layout, the views...
Delicious.

That would be one special tea party. I think they could make a brew out of their own verbal poison and drink that with shortcake made from the skeletons of their enemies.

And be waited upon by their two favorite young men they adore to torture.

I love how Moscorn only has an eye and no real eyebrows, and you can still tell how much he's freaking out.

And fuck, Frost's mom is creepy.

He has a shockingly expressive face. I am continually impressed with its range. I think it's the kernel brow and cheek. You can get a lot with just those two muscles.

...or...corn...kernels...

LOL. Isn't the human ability to read expression in anything amazing?

I LOVE that last panel. I was staring at it for a while... Both the expressions are excellent.

I too chuckled at the gravestone.

I was actually a little disappointed with the last panel. I wish I could have made it look the way it was in my head.

Wait, what!?
Ah, the protagonists you've worked with have come a long way.

Like and I too cracked up when I saw the headstone, and also when Frost went Whomp, Thud, "Oww" ...

Also, Frosts expression while he's being hit with the spear makes me laugh... this whole set, and even this whole round, makes me smile a lot.

It's all so blue!! and not only in color, emotionally too. Everyone's in such turmoil! *bites nails to the quick waiting for more*

Heh. It is rather blue, isn't it? I hadn't noticed the color, but it does reflect the mood rather well.

JoTyler In reply to RobinRone [2010-02-26 19:10:24 +0000 UTC]

It works wonderfully
first i noticed it cuz i was thinking how i never connected that cecilia has blue hair like frost (and is wearing blue too, now that i think about it), and then Frost'sMom™ has a blue dress, and then i noticed the fog was a sort of blue-grey.
It all pulls together perfectly for a sort of dreary, inner turmoil sort of atmosphere!

Hi. I love frosts mom forever >u> <333

I really like how you're showing her ghosty movements~ Reminds me of Chaos in that Sinbad cartoon movie...which, was epic in her movement. Really gives of the feeling of movement and that's always an awesome thing with comics...considering they're still.

god these are so awesome i keep running out of good things to say!

RobinRone In reply to TwinkSatan [2010-02-26 18:47:03 +0000 UTC]

I had a lot of fun with her. I imagined her as part of the mist, and tried to portray that rapid, fluid, eerie movement with the images.

God, Frost's Mom. I mean, really.
And that's her name, too. I mean how bad is that. Frost's Mom. Met Asmo. In hell.
She's like the posterwoman of OG for anything horrendously nasty.
I really like the character development of this page; Frost is acting so tough and talking to him 'mom' like he doesn't care, but it's all so obviously such a flimsy facade.
We need Rhi right about now. Fascinating just how opposite they can be.
And look on the bright side, Frost- at least your tombstone has a kickin' gargoyle, right? I always assumed Robin would let you end up in a dumpster.

My favorite panel is when he's climbing out of the grave with one arm. Awesome layout.

Sophiaaaaa

I never gave her a name. She never gave Frost one, so why should I do her that courtesy? The bitch.

I thought of putting something more gothically epic on his tombstone, but it made sense that it would be something monstrous. That's how he views himself, and this is what his fears are all about...

Epic and monstrous? Silly, Robin, the headstone should have just had Moscorn on it.
