I just purchased my first telescope, and now I can see images like this all the time. But, now I want to know how to take pictures of it through the little lens? How did you get this image?

I just used a canon t3i camera with a tripod with a 250 mm lens.

Okay, ... How large is your eyepiece on your telescope?
Mine is about 1/4" in diameter.
I guess I could try my Nikon - I just didn't thing it would work.
Thanks.

I don't use a telescope. Just my camera and a telephoto lens.

Yeah that was the camera lens. I'd love to get into telescopes someday.

You defintiely got some nice detail there! Almost looks like a painting of sorts. Nice work.

Thanks. Yeah, the way it turned out, it kind of has a metallic look to it.
