Jane Doe caught a glimpse of herself on the reflective metal surface of the room…. She was completely gobsmacked. This was the first time her reflection matched how she felt inside. Her hard and sarcastic demeanor slipped for a moment into pure joy. Although reality slipped back into her mind as Jane realized she would still need to deal with the real world problems she came to this place to escape. How would she deal with ID cards, any laws she might have broken by jumping state lines…. She suppressed those thoughts for the moment as she lived in the moment and apologized to the Machine for her small lie.
