Description
Sting Man was created by APEX using data from Hornet Man and Vesper Woman, intending for him to be another warrior for his army. While Sting Man was loyal to APEX at first, he slowly became self-aware and started to see things differently. APEX attempted to have him detained to have his programming fixed, but he escaped and wandered around Mega City before coming to LaLinde's laboratory. Upon seeing Vesper Woman, he became infatuated, but was too scared to show himself. However, Viola caught sight of him one day and confronted him, aiming her Vesper Stinger at him until he explained himself. Rather than lie about his origins, he told her the truth, and she felt sorry for him since he didn't have a purpose. While Dr. LaLinde was initially hesitant, Tempo and Octave were able to convince her. Now, he and Viola are in a relationship, and he helps with her pollinating and botanical cataloging, as well as offering to aid Tempo and Octave if they require it. His Special Weapon is the Laser Stinger, which fires stinger-shaped energy blasts that can penetrate through most barriers/shields. As a rogue APEX Master, he has come to despise his creator and, thus, has joined Mega Man and the others in opposition of the malevolent A.I. He's a nice guy, but he doesn't hesitate to crack a joke every now and then. Besides Vesper Woman, he's considered a brother-in-law by Tempo and Octave, and LaLinde has even accepted him as a son-in-law.

He's based on the unused Hornet Man boss design from Mega Man 2, while his name comes from an early name for the MM9 Hornet Man after he was changed to be male rather than female (AKA Honey Woman).
