Ahhh, I finally finished it in time! ;u; I haven't rped in years so I'm a little rusty, but I wanted to try applying to this cute rp. Keeping my fingers crossed that I get in!
This took all night to write for, but I'm happy with how he turned out. The drawing, not so much. I've been working on some business projects with my sister, so between that and babysitting, I had to squeeze drawing in whenever I had time. The end result feels kind of rushed, the only thing I'm happy with is the bust-up. But the clothes need to be redone imo. If I manage to get in, I'll make sure he gets revamped and will look nice and pretty. ;u; I just wanted to make sure I got this done in time.

P E R S O N A L I T Y |
- Eerily Cheerful | Rudy is always smiling and seems to have made it his policy to keep a happy-go-lucky attitude at all times. Even in instances where his life is potentially at risk, he just seems to laugh it off or make a badly-timed joke out of it. This tends to get on people's nerves, as it leaves the impression that he doesn't seem to take anything or anyone seriously.
- Perpetual Liar | Don't trust him. If you ask him for directions or advice, you will probably regret it. Rudy will not delve into personal facts about himself. If one tries to make an attempt, he will make up a completely fabricated story. He will also lie to get you to buy useless junk at his shop or to pawn precious things off of you.
- Lazy | He prefers to do as little work as he possibly can. When going out, he will often hire muscle to protect him from monsters so he doesn't have to do the work himself despite being able to fight. To no one's shock, he will sleep most of the day away.

- Alcohol | When the shop is closed during the day, Rudy will either be sleeping the day away or drinking his brains out in the bar. Terrifyingly enough, alcohol tends to make him even more obnoxious than he already is.
- Strange Trinkets | He likes anything unusual-looking, shiny, valuable, unique.... pretty much anything can strike his fancy at any time. It's the entire reason he started his shop in the first place. He will try part anyone with said object when he has his sights set on it. What he actually does with these things he doesn't say. He will either keep it in his collection or sell it at an inflated price.
- Women | Strangely enough, he doesn't even have any ulterior motives to try to woo them; he just really loves women and will shower them with over-exaggerated compliments. Every woman is beautiful, in his eyes.
- Nosy People | Really does not appreciate people trying to get him to open up. Doesn't seem to trust people, though this could be because he's so untrustworthy, himself.
- Daytime | He's such a night-owl that he can barely function in the daytime. Due to his excessive drinking, the sun tends to give him a headache.
- Unnecessary Effort | Physical labor is a hassle. See "Lazy" in personality.
H I S T O R Y |
Growing up in poverty as a child, Rudy would often survive by lifting wallets from passing tourists that made the long journey to the bustling oasis city in the desert. One day, he had made the mistake of trying to steal from a shady traveling merchant who had caught him and threatened to hand him off to the authorities... but instead of doing so, he allowed Rudy to pay off his crime by working under him. While he had fully expected to be treated badly by the man, to Rudy's surprise, the merchant became a sort of mentor to him and taught him how to 'steal without getting caught'. He learned the art of sales and trade, but also how to take advantage of unsuspecting customers who were naive enough to pay two or even three times the amount for what they were being sold.
The two grew to have a close father-son bond running a business together and Rudy began noticing the quality of their stock had raised remarkably, ranging from weapons, to precious gemstone, to even medicine. When questioning his mentor where the supplies had come from, however, he was told not to pay any heed to it.... until city soldiers had put a bounty on Rudy and his mentor's head.
Confused, they had hidden away and planned to escape the city. While on the run, Rudy had finally discovered the truth behind his mentor; that he was a thief who would rob and steal precious cargo from being delivered to their destinations... the most recent being the medicine that was going to be used for the sick. Feeling resentment towards the man who raised him, he tipped the city guards off to his mentor's whereabouts in exchange for clemency. Though doing so came with consequences, filling his mentor with anger and a sense of betrayal. Fearing the repercussions should the man ever escape prison, Rudy changed his identity and fled his desert homeland and used the knowledge he learned from his mentor to make a new life as an honest traveling merchant..... well... not honest. But at least he doesn't rob people.
He spent the next few years traveling the land selling his random wares, and buying even stranger ones... until he arrived at Ogregati. Seeing the prosperous land, Rudy saw the potential for his business in the Witch Market, and considering it seemed far enough from his homeland, he decided to settle down. Though due to the nature of his business, he decided the 'safest' route would be to sell his wares in the black market.

- Growing up in the desert, he's used to extreme temperatures. Heat doesn't bother him.
- Rudy isn't his real name, as he changed it in order to stay in hiding, he refuses to tell anyone about himself.
- Sells his wears out of a carriage pulled by a Buffamoo he named Luci.
