Description one of the oldest Native American villages still occupied, Taos Pueblo, New Mexico. multi-story "apartment buildings" like this were built since about 1000 AD. travelling Southwest USA there's ruins everywhere, some absolutely spectacular, like those in Chaco Canyon.Β here you can get a sense of what they must have looked like (although with less doors and windows..). for a slightly different view in infrared seeΒ fav.me/dajlti7

Great composition and lighting. I've never been here, 6 times or so to Chaco. I have some images on my gallery.

Great place. They seem to be a kind of 'sand apartments'

thanks. they're built with "dirt", mainly clay and sand, sometimes with straw added - cheers, rob

thanks! it is wonderful to be there, sort of step into history. it is not a monument in the european sense, however, as the taos people are still living there, as they have done for centuries.. hope you get a chance to go (and there's many more interesting places out there). cheers, rob
