This is great! You can see a clear progression of not only technique like values and anatomy and so on, but also a progression of movement and personality and character! Comparing the first one, as a straightforward portrait, to the others that have a developing sense of character and life to them, the improvement is leaps and bounds with each one.

Somewhere after the second one, using a reference was suggested to me. Like the recalcitrant nugget I am, obviously I ignored it haha
Then when I tried to do whatever it was with the lighting in the third, referencing became sort of unavoidable. I'm glad I did and I'll keep trying to use them.
