Your story is going along very well
I reminds me of an old, I think it was in Eerie, where these guys come down on Earth in space suites and do a dig and find the metal remains of what they think were the people of Earth. It turns out to be and old style VW Beetle, and as they board their ship and take off their helmets, and they are metal men (aka robots).

Ha, that sounds pretty cool. I know there are a lot of stories of a similar tone. It's not the most original story ever written, but I think it has a slightly different subtext than many of them.
The big point of this comic was to experiment with page layouts, and have something more comic book interior wise to have in my portfolio.
