This is sort of my response to all the Superman vs. Goku art that people have done. Since Goku is partially derived from Superman and Superman is partially derived from Popeye, it seemed kind of logical in my mind.Related content

Actually, Popeye can break the Fourth Wall and was able to beat up his own animator and rip a hole in the film real on which his show was running. A fictional character can't really get more powerful than that. If he fought Goku, he would just rip him out of the screen or some other ridiculousness.

Because he does. Somebody else already asked me this. If you look at the comic strip from whence Popeye originated, you'll see that he has reddish hair. It was only later that his design got simplified and it became more customary to depict him as mostly bald.

If we're talking about the cartoon series' Popeye, all he has to do is eat a can of spinach and the cartoon ends with him as the winner.

Popeye's got spinach man, the one thing that changes him from just a mere sailor to a being that can break the very laws of physics. Goku's a badass, but I've never seen him chew lightning like bubble gum, which Popeye has.

Goku is a Saiyan, not Japanese cause in the DBZ world there is no such thing as race, only people! And Popeye is a cartoon, but not a serious one to beat Goku!

Popeye makes Goku's fireballs scream and run away, classic cartoon style, before knocking the Saiyan back into his child form with a diaper or into the goof who played him in DragonBall: Evolution.
