I know Magic for years, and of course she'll use white. Err, let's see, there's Black for Nightmare Moon, as for red, I don't know, Spike? Discord, probably all 5 unless it's down to green, blue & black (But blue is his majority).

Ha, me and my brother screwed all the rules up when we were younger, blocking multiple creatures, flyers can't block flyers, etc., no idea what the hell we were doing without rules to refer to.
If she splashed green, Rarity could be playing Lorwyn's elves: obsessed with beauty and perfection (green mana)βto the point of vanity and corruption (black mana). Fits well, forgetting her generous element!

I don't play "Magic The Gathering" cards, but I do play the "Yu-Gi-Oh" cards so I understand most things about card battle games.

Megrim is an enchantment. Lightning Bolt can only target creatures or players. So you can't "Bolt a Megrim".

Okay, now you got me thinking of the types of decks for all the ponies. Gotta list 'em.
Twilight: Blue Control.
Spike: Red Dragons.
Rarity: White Equipment/life gain.
Pinkie Pie: Five-Color deck built around Shahrazad and the Unhinged and Unglued sets.
Fluttershy: White/Green Creatures and life gain.
Angel: Five color of pretty much nothing but Planeswalkers.
Rainbow Dash: "Into the Breach" event deck.
Applejack: Green creatures and saprolings.
Trixie: Blue/Black control/discard.
Derpy: A deck of nothing but the Banding mechanic.
Zecora: Five-color Aura deck.
Gilda: ...she'd think Magic was for losers.
Celestia: White Angel deck.
Luna: I not enough to go by yet.
Nightmare Moon: Black Phyrexian death machine/discard.

I think Celestia might play a white Angel+Control deck with a twist. The deck is built around Serra Angel and Sunblast Angel, which are the only Angels in the deck. Other cards in the deck are cards like Gideon's Lawkeeper or Azorius Guildmage who can tap enemy creatures. So, Celestia builds up a defensive position until she can play Sunburst Angel, then uses her relatively weak creatures to tap the enemy's creatures, then plays Sunblast Angel to clear the field. Sunblast Angel's sun theme just fits Celestia perfectly.

Took me a while to figure out its uses when I first pulled it. All I can see is that it'd be a troll card to go against control decks. A way to exile all spells on the stack without them getting to resolve. You could also avoid negative affects of the combat phase. Say Gideon Jura says all your creatures attack him on your turn if able, and there's no way you're prepared to boost your creatures enough to deal with your opponent's defenses. Sundial tells Gideon where to shove that combat phase.

Scootaloo: Whatever Rainbow Dash is using.
Sweetie Bell: Whatever Rarity is using.
Applebloom: All the cards she could find with the highest numbers, having no regard for strategy or balance. (Many among us did this when we were little kids, admit it).
Big Macintosh: A Red/Green Big Creature deck. High attack power and trample are the main focus here.
The Diamond Dogs: Artifact deck built around a swarm strategy.
Cheerilee: White enchantment, a lot of cards like "Pacifism" that prevent enemy creatures from attacking or blocking. Made up of cards confiscated from students.

Doctor Whooves plays a blue/white control deck built around Venser the Sojourner. He might also have a second female planeswalker in the deck (Elspeth?).

I am in approval of this. Especially the Diamond Dogs running a weenie artifact deck! That's brilliant! Applebloom and Cheerilee's decks are also perfect!

Can you think of any other character that might work? I was going to add in some BG ponies like Lyra, Bon Bon, Doctor Hoof, Octavia, Vinyl Scratch and Mayor Mare but we just don't know enough about them to come up with anything really suiting.

I guess you might be able to throw in some of the monsters. The Cockatrice would either run a Green Black deck, or a deck based around tapping things. However, they never really answered whether or not the Cockatrice was sentient. Dragons clearly are, but again, there's not enough to go by. Maybe Philomena would run a deck based around bouncing stuff from the graveyard. Black/Red/White deck with Phoenixes, Remember The Fallen, Aphetto Dredging, and Yawgmoth's Will. Snips and Snails...Nope. They'd never get the hang of it. That's all I got. Discord will be the next to have a deck after the 17th. ^^

As long as we're on the subject I'm actually making a pony deck. It'll suck because there is little unifying strategy but I'm not making it to be good. I'm just gathering up all the unicorn, pegasi and horse themed cards I can find just so I can so "I have a My Little Pony Themed Magic Deck!".... Huhhh thank god I'm out of high school or that statement would've had my ass kicked so fast.

It's funny. Just before I opened DA this morning I looked at Steven Magnet on my wallpaper and thought "what is HIS mechanic?" Well if he's fashion oriented like Rarity, he might be an equipment guy. He also might favor really complicated combos that fail without any one condition in place. "All ruined without my beautiful 'Consecrated Sphinx!'"
That deck sounds kickass already. I'll be sitting on the gatherer all day now looking at all the horse, unicorn and pegasus cards. XD
