Palkia, the Spatial Pokemon. It has the ability to distort space. It is described as a deity in Sinnoh-region mythology. It is said to live in a gap in the spatial dimension parallel to ours.Palkia lives inside the gate!

Ah, hmm didn't know that, this had been a picture I had to have someone else upload for me since my computer was not working at the time so they picked their own keywords I guess 
I'm guess it's because the gate in the anime is loosely based on an actual sculpture of "The gates of hell" which I think is based on Dante's inferno or something crazy like that. XD
