Although rexie, compie and dilo should be feathered, it's very nice

I knew about that, but the theme of the game is kind pulpy, with gladiators fighting jetpack nazis and all. We thought it was best to keep it classic,

Ok I'll bite, what kind of a board game is this?  Tabletop like Warhammer?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Raygathex In reply to Badork11 [2015-05-11 12:25:20 +0000 UTC]

Its more like Super Dungeon Explore.  Basically there are players who start on one tile, have an encounter, draw a new tile and have another.  Each game will have a goal to complete and each type of terrain will spawn new enemies.  Basically a dungeon crawler with exploration elements.

So as an update the game is called Chronomancers War, its a dungeon crawling table top game that will use cards, plastic minis and dice.  You will be able to play heroes from many timelines and genres to survive this mashed up world created by the evil Chronomancer, a techno-mage from our distant future AND the final boss of the game.

Sounds pretty cool! Reminds me a bit that old fantasy movie "Time Bandits"

Raygathex In reply to KingsOfEvilArt [2015-04-28 10:40:12 +0000 UTC]

I was actually inspired by Turok and My Science Project (the movie).  I haven't seen Time Bandits, is it good?

KingsOfEvilArt In reply to Raygathex [2015-04-28 11:18:32 +0000 UTC]

It's been made by some members of Monty Python's group and that says a lot.

Still it isn't a typical Pythons' comedy, but more of a fantasy movie with some funny scenes. The story of bunch of dwarwes who travel trough time robbing famous people of the age. Main antagonist is an evil cyborg wizard ( img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20… to me, was the most memorable character of the movie)  who wants to steal their time-map and remake whole world in his image. Add to it some oldschool speciall effects and thats it. May not be something very outstanding, but it has cool, nostalgic feel and I enjoyed the movie much.

Holy crap thats awesome!  I really gotta watch this!  I was inspired to make the Chronomancer by combining the Campaigner from Turok and Merlin, seems great ideas are never alone, thanks for the heads up!

Glad that I could help, I hope you'll enjoy the movie and maybe even find some inspiration in it.

How did you like it?

One of the final scenes, where Evil Genius battles against fighters of various ages was what I thought of especially when checking out this game.

Its an excellent movie, i can definitely see the Monty Python humor scattered throughout also.  If you haven't seen My Science Project then you should watch it.  You'll see where my major inspiration comes from.  People tell me its not a great movie, but A Boy and His Dog is AWFUL and yet it was the inspiration for Fallout.  xD

KingsOfEvilArt In reply to Raygathex [2015-04-30 05:23:52 +0000 UTC]

Good that there are still people enjoying such oldschool movies. The only thng that I'd like to see there, which was not featured would be trip back into times of dinosaurs (with some cool monsters in Harryhausen's  style roaming there.) fortunately your game does cover the dinosaurs! BTW, speaking of dinosaurs, there is this totally epic discovery published just several hours ago phenomena.nationalgeographic.c… If your game is still in early phase of development, perhaps you'd think of including this one too? It would make it prety much first popular culture reference of a totally new animal and perhaps could increase interest in it.

I'll check it out, thenks for letting me know of it.

I SAW THIS!  I have a paleontology blog on Facebook: www.facebook.com/groups/157454… (feel free to join) and i posted it last night, blew my MIND!  And yeah the game is still in the concept stage, some of this art may never get used but its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

My Science Project DOES have dinosaurs!  In fact the encounter a cave man, Vietcong, a gladiator, mutants from the future and one of the BEST looking animatronic, life sized tyrannosaurs ive ever seen!

I there, im the game Dev.  So far we don't have an actual, the game is VERY early in development.  I just wanted to see peoples reactions to the game concept while I write up the rules (which will take quite a bit of time).  I do thank you for the support and early fandom though.  Feel free to ask me questions any time.

I'm really liking the pose on that T.rex, even if it does seem sort of silly at first. It has a really cool vintage paleoart feel about it.
