Description Visiting Dresden/Germany over New Year.  Took a nice guided tour through the Semper Opera.
Left side of the tribune.  Note the modern lighting equipment in the booths - they look so displaced in this surrounding!

I left the Mamiya at home and took the Zeiss Ikon 6x6 folder along (  -->   )  .  Ilford Delta Pro 100 film.

Like the two using the slightly more modern cameras at the bottom.
Imagine all the dusting.......

All that modern stuff in this baroque surrounding  I think, technically, I was the most setback person in the whole group, with my 60 year old camera and analogue wrist-watch.  And no smart phone.

At the Clacton air show, I got amazed looks from several people when I stopped to change film. Even some of the guys using DSLR's looked as if they'd never seen film before...... And I don't own a mobile phone, either.

Hehe, same here.  I frequently have people stare at the film back of the Mamiya to see the capture I just have taken.  Must be really irritating.

I have a mobile phone, but it is just for the job.  Although I have to admit that I take some snap shots with it when traveling!

You are right the spotlight equipment seems to jar your sense of time and place. At least with the sound speaker cabinets they sort of blend in to the overall color of the place. Wonder why they didn't at least color the spotlights in a similar fashion?

Nice in black & white, allows your eyes to focus on details and not be drawn by colors. Err... That is if there are colors

Thanks! Also makes me wonder.  An immense effort was undertaken to restore the opera to it's former glory, with real leaf gilding and very detailed stucco work, and then this!
