Description

This is Lux, my changeling character for my roommate's Eberron campaign... until quarantine happened at least. I hope I get to play them again. If I sound unsure about parts of his backstory, it's because a gave my DM free reign to change or add things to fit her story and I didn't get the chance to find out what changed.

Lux grew up in Sharn, raised by one of the giant owls that ransom those who fall from the upper layers of the city. He himself had fallen as a toddler, though his guardian tells him that his mother used him as payment to save her own life. While the giant owl kept him at claws length, threatening to eat him on many occasions, she made sure he was well-educated by making the scholars of the upper city her main target and accepting books as payment. The owl refused to let him leave the nest until he was able to climb out himself, which he was finally able to do at the age of 13. After leaving the nest, he became a bouncer at one of the bars in the lower city using his half-orc persona, though he also did small jobs as his elf persona (Nox or Noxaria). When he was 15, his aberrant dragonmark manifested, alerting House Tarkanan, which he joined as Nox'aria, keeping her real identity as a changeling secret.

Some fun facts:

He's a chaotic good Wild Soul barbarian/(hopefully) artificer with the Urchin background.

His weapon is a great club meant to look like a baseball bat, and he does nonlethal damage whenever possible.

His "rage" is actually his fight response kicking into overdrive, because he has severe anxiety.

Lux's aberrant dragonmark lets him use Thunderwave and Booming Blade, but gives him night terrors after each use.

Lux uses his "real" name in his half-orc form.

Changeling Lux uses he/they pronouns, half-orc Lux uses he/him pronouns, and Noxaria uses she/her pronouns.

According to the giant owl, Lux's full name is Luxury Meal.

Lux had recently found out that his real name might be Lux'ildan and he might be connected to the Fae.

The giant owl that raised him might not be a giant owl, but a dragon.

His mom might also be a dragon and he might have a fraternal twin (I doubt this one as said dragon was a shifty npc)
