In many of the Star Wars Games, the character you play (the player character) is already established; some are original to the game (like Kyle Katarn), some are George Lucas originals (like Luke Skywalker or even Ahsoka Tano). However, some of the player characters are customizable (Jaden Korr, the Jedi Exile). In order to have the characters’ stories continue to grow and develop in the expanded universe, Star Wars computer games player characters have to be “canonized”, if for no other reason than to get all the pronouns straight. Most of the player characters for games have been (Caucasoid) human males.

Some people have issues with what gets “canonized”. Some of you know already that I think that a female Revan would have been a better choice. I’ve accepted the current Revan, btw, so don’t hassle me. I was annoyed when I heard that people had issue with the Jedi Exile being female. My thoughts were along the lines of “You want everyone to be male? Selfish!” I understand that people probably have some good reason for feeling the way they do, but some people are just whiney. This is for them.

Those in the upper left and center are PCs original to the games. Original scans: [link] [link]

On the right ( [link] )are a few characters from the movies who represent all of the characters you can play in games. The ones I picked have at least one game where they are the sole focus. Mara Jade was introduced neither in games nor in the movies. She was in the expansion Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith. THERE WAS A DARK FORCES GAME I DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT!! Until this project that is…

OKAY, now you guess who they are. I HAVE NOT played a lot of these games! I have played the KotOR games and the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight games (except Mysteries of the Sith). That and Yoda stories… and I think “X-wing vs. Tie Fighter” I played in… 1995… how long ago [that game didn’t appear to have a Player Character anyway]. I drew them based on what references I could find. I’m curious how popular or obscure they are. If I missed a player character introduced in a game, let me know and I’ll add them. I didn’t do anything for Star Wars Galaxies, because, as far as I can tell, each quest could theoretically have been done but any random individual in the galaxy. I’m not doing any more movie characters.
