i see quite a few orbs close to the ground. And a dark figure in a pointy hat at the end of the tunnel.

Orbs are essentially tiny unknown globes of light that are often seen in photos and in person, often in areas where people feel an strange background aura/presence. Some people believe that orbs are a sign of the residual spiritual energy of ghosts, or some other supernatural entity.

Thank you for such a helpful, quick and useful answer! It's very interesting and I'm going to google it and explore the phenomenon a bit more. What do you think they are?

I've not had too much experience this kind of unexplained phenomena on camera, but it's definitely fascinating. The most common conclusion most people have is that unexplained orbs and fog are just airborne dust/humidity, reflected in the flash of a camera. But it's possible to take pictures of them without flash, and I've seen small orbs of light in areas with too little background light for anything to be reflected...
The background story/location where this photo was taken is a bit eerie. The tunnel is part of a historic original trench warfare site in a forest in Ypres, Belgium that was used in both WW1 and WW2. So I have no doubt that some soldiers had lost their life around the forest area nearby, over 90 years ago. There is another really interesting photo I took from this tunnel, where it looks like there is a blurry figure sitting on the floor-- >whitebonedemon.deviantart.com/…

There's much we can not even begin to comprehend about our current plane of existence... Especially the forces that bind energy to matter, or consciousness to physical body. I like exploring the weird and unusual parts that make up this world, even if everything I learn just leads to more questions...
The one thing I understand however, is that the boundary which separates life and death is only an illusion. The same way that hate is just another type of love, pain is just another form of pleasure, destruction is creation, dreams are reality, noise is music... These are all different aspects of the exact same thing; Consciousness. The struggle to free ourselves from the pain of existence will become the very thing that kills us in the end... A truly endless paradox of decay.

Ah, I feel a foray into quantum physics coming on. I can't claim to properly understand it but on some level it just seems to make sense. and its similarities to Taoism are fascinating.

People suggest that one day, if science is able to fully study and manipulate quantum particles and forces, we could be closer to achieving the final evolution stage of humans. If only we had just enough knowledge of how to bend space, we could bend time also. This is the only reason why living creatures cannot escape the flow of time and entropy.
Our physical bodies will never travel faster than light without folding the barriers of the 3rd dimension, home to every piece of physical matter in the universe. We would be able to travel backwards in (perpendicular quantum) relative to time, and possibly exist in an infinite amount of separate places at once... Exactly like Consciousness.

Is the term consciousness interchangeable with soul or spirit (non religious)? Metaphysical questions before breakfast aren't my forte, but I'm curious so please forgive my naivete!

Trying to describe whether consciousness is connected to soul is proves to be a tricky question, because it's an existential paradox. The more we struggle to define these things in relation to each other, we realise how blurred and fragile our concepts of these things actually are.
I have conflicting ideas that consciousness and soul are separate things. Maybe they are. Or maybe they aren't. These things can be so inter-twined with each other that it's difficult to tell them apart. The mind (consciousness/ego), the body (the physical world), and the soul (life force/high frequency energy)... These are all individual things, but they are all one when in perfect harmony with each other... The goal of spiritual meditation in various cultures is to try and find this absolute balance of self, and connection to all of existence.

I have so much pictures of orbs, I can't believe in them anymore.
It always feels like it's just cold and wet, and there must be shadows.
(Maybe I'm an orb)
