Original Artist's Comment: "I finally decided to pain this picture - I have the original pencils lying around somewhere in my gallery.
Anyway, it is always a pain to paint over pencils, so I had to come up with a whole bunch of techniques to make it work... and using nothing but a mouse and Corel Photodraw.
Yes, I'm insane.
I also have a massive headache at the time, from 8 straight hours finishing it... I'm not too happy with the girl's kimono, her katana handle and the shines in the katana blade... nor with the fan. For a while I considered removing the fan and putting a second blade, since this is a Dragon Clan Samurai-ko, from the Legend of the Five Rings RPG... and Dragon Samurai are trained to fight with two weapons.
However, ~remichan recommended I should keep the fan, and so I did.
I'd like to write more about it, but it's nearly half past 5 in the morning and I can barely spell right, so let's just leave it at that."

hmh.... indeed, my Master, this is a great pic. The Idea is nice, and it fits everywhere. Especially the knits in the kimono are cool.

What should I keep up? The kimono? Tsc, that would be a shame... after all, Alderac loves to regale us with rokuganese ladies that can barely keep their clothes on... it would be a shame to breake the trend.

Awesome... the katana looks excellent, the fan amazing- my one minor quibble is that she looks a little bit 'holier-than-thou'- y'know, with her nose turned up like that. But then, maybe that was the look you were going for. If so, ignore me. ^_^

I agree with you on the kimono though: it's shaded and drawn really well in some places but looks a little odd on the edges.

No, it's not by Boris Valejo, since I don't know his work very much. I drew the idea from a Shi comic.

that doesnt shock me actually, a lot of comics use the 'dragon comes to life' concept, but like I said you did so originally not copying hun^^ that much I can tell. (Since my parents had that painting in their living room beleive me I know it all to well >_>
