I like the movement you created with the clouds, your eyes get moved all over the image and it's beautiful.
The textures you found here are gorgeous also, and the naturality of them all help create a very harmonious image.
4.5/5
You're getting awesome!

Thank you again, I am glad you like this one. My first time working with filters to keep lighting even through this, otherwise i would end up with a blown sky or a dark foreground. I was pleased with how this worked out.

What kind of filter did you use?

ND2x filter and circ polarizer.

Looks good. I agree with the others, a few steps forward would be fine. Or an other angle.
For me the dynamic range is looks great here. Is it a HDRi?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Roland3791 In reply to Bandit83 [2009-01-11 20:11:22 +0000 UTC]

Not HDRI, I did use a graduated filter to get the sky brightness down, and I did some work on it in lightroom to bring up the contrast, and reduce the exposure in the sky some more. But it is an individual shot, and... since i don't have, or know how, to use photoshop, i'm not sure how to do an HDRI. Though I'm interested in trying it some time.
Thank you for the feedback, and it looks like a lot of people agree about the foreground, so i will have to keep that in mind in the future. Thanks again.

Sounds like lightroom is an interesting program. The effects in the other two pics are amazing and the high contrast in this picture is wonderful.

Thanks so much, glad you like the shots, and yes, i am a big fan of lightroom. Its clean with out many things to get in the way of working on your photo. It doesn't have the ability to mix and do the kinds of things photoshop does, but for working with a single photo on getting your lighting and colors and cropping and all, it is fairly easy. the work flow makes sense, and its ability to handle and sort through a large group of photos is wonderful.

Fair enough Glad you like the spot, it was in cali, so much closer for you than for me Perhaps i should try a crop that gets rid of some of the foreground

Hm, I don't think the foreground is over-crowded, I think it's interesting being able to see the plants growing on top of the cliff, rather than how most people photograph scenes like this and give little to no foreground.

OMG Im so sorry! Haha. Im so stupid, I totally forgot that you dont understand a word of norwegian! What I said was that I really loved this photo and that you did a great job!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Roland3791 In reply to Dulces [2009-01-08 14:43:01 +0000 UTC]

lol, oh... now see, when i was trying to translate it, i ended up with something like... ummm... to paraphrase, it sort of made you want to do photos like that... So I have a lot to learn about translating Norwegian.
And please don't feel sorry at all, its good for me to learn new things. :d And thanks about the compliment.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dulces In reply to Roland3791 [2009-01-08 15:08:32 +0000 UTC]

It actually said that the photo was just my type of photo, the kind of photo I like the most And I also wrote it in dialect, so ill understand if you didnt get very far at translating it, hehe.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Roland3791 In reply to Dulces [2009-01-08 15:45:42 +0000 UTC]

hahaha, that explains why i couldn't find a few words, and was just trying to use the closest i could find in a dictionary.... course thats assuming that an online dictionary has it right anyway. I admit, it was fun trying to figure it out.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dulces In reply to Roland3791 [2009-01-08 17:45:53 +0000 UTC]

Hehe, Im glad I didnt cause you to much trouble then Online dictionaries can be really bad sometimes! How did you find a norwegian dictionary online anyway? Do you even have the letters Γ¦, ΓΈ and Γ₯ on you keyboard?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Roland3791 In reply to Dulces [2009-01-08 18:12:37 +0000 UTC]

lol.. had to cut and paste to get those in actually and yes, their are a few dictionaries, and even a translator page, but it didn't do all the words. So i end up with a mixed translation... Now just be happy you didn't have to hear me try and speak it... cause i have no idea how to make the sounds for those letters

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dulces In reply to Roland3791 [2009-01-08 18:29:05 +0000 UTC]

Funny Well the letter "Γ¦" sounds like the sounds that a sheep makes And the letter "ΓΈ" sounds kinda like the "u" in luck! And the letter "Γ₯" sounds like.. hmm.. "ooh", maybe. Its kinda hard to explain! Hehe

lol, fun, i love languages, i just wish i could learn some... i'm stuck with english and i always feel like those dumb egocentric americans cause its the only language i know, yet people all over the world know several. I wish i could have learned when i was much younger, but i still try...
sounds like a fun language to work with too.

Some say Norwegian is really difficult to learn actually. I dont know why I also love languages! And I really really would like to learn Japanese one day I love Japanese soooo much! Without knowing Norwegian and English I also know a little bit of German. But that's like nothing compared to all the languages in the world! Indeed we have much to learn
