More concept art time! I had this one ready weeks ago but never got around to posting it, so it's techincally still a February drawing

Either way, once again, 10 years ago or so I was messing around other concepts for Roller, here we have two alternate versions (might aswell call them alternate universe selves), just to distinguish them let's call them "Badass Roller" and "Girly Roller".

Badass Roller's original design wasn't orignally mine, at the time I was big into listening to the band "Korn" and gave Roller a more metal-head look, I honestly loved how he looked so I went ahead and kept it, I couldn't find the old design anymore though, but I was able to scrape a small ref!

Anyways, let's get down to the concept: in an alternate universe Roller wakes up alone in a lab, due to some space travel complications becomes stranded in a desertic planet full of bandits who fight and kill each other, while trying to find shelter one day, he comes across a dark crystal, attracted by it's crimson aura he reached out to it and it changed him:

instead of just turning evil, it made him a "badass", killed his fear and his inhibition. He's cocky, he likes to face challenges head on, and most importantly, he never backs down if someone attacks him, even if he's at a disadvantage, in a way, this Roller represents the brave side of the main Roller, without those inhibitions however, he's reckless and very prone to getting in trouble, and living in an already chaotic planet... Hilarity can only ensue.

This Roller is also addicted to a special drink of that planet called "Spirit Soda", this drink literally lifts up people's spirits, to someone already full of spirit and energy, this Roller gets literally drunk on spirit, this is basically beer to him.

One small note: the "Scar" on this Roller isn't really a scar, more like just a tatoo he put on himself to look "cooler" after the crystal gave him red eyes and changed the metal in his robotic parts.

Girly Roller on the other hand... He represents Roller's more sensitive and emotional side, in yet another alternate timeline, Roller winds up in a space colony with a crime problem, the years spent there were not kind to him however as he faced a lot of bullying and some clashing with several groups, specially those with female bandits. (mostly due to his smaller size).

Change would come to him when a guy would show him kindness, his first true friend, after the time spent together, something sparked in him, he felt a warm feeling and well... Long story short, Roller developed a crush on this guy, although eventually he'd have to leave the colony and nothing would come out of that crush, this Roller decided he could find happiness with a guy rather than with a girl.

However... One thing all Rollers have in common regardless of timeline or universe, is a degree of naivette, due to not knowing how gay people really is supposed to act, he simply decided to take on a more feminine demeanor and adopting a softer tone of voice compared to his normal or his badass counterparts.

His girly behavior is not to be underestimated though, cuz this Roller can stand up for himself just as good as his counterparts, ringing true to the phrase "judging a book by it's cover", still, this girly boy got a lot to learn, about others and about himself.

So yeah there's these two more concept ideas I had about Roller, I'd say honestly helped me a lot too to develop these ideas back in the day, my only real regret is that I didn't have enough practise drawing that I could finally make them look at their best (also consistency helps a lot too xD).
