well, unfortunately, not everyone can live until 90 or 100..
..
I believe that 'there where he's gone to' there is no more good or bad; I don't believe in a 'afterlife'; so in my opinion he returned to (mother) nature..

I won't disagree with you.After all i consider myself as a agnostic,about religion.
So,i can't be sure about anything beyond me and us in earth.
Perhaps there are gods, there ghosts, demons, angels, fairies, dwarfs or anything else!
Or notIt's up to us.However, because of your profession,a balanced relationship with religion,
is a good way to balance for a person. Not the only way,but one, good, hopeful way.
That's the pointMaybe he's back to (mother)nature. After all,god is nature and nature is a god.
Whatever anyone believes, nature and god(or gods)are the different views of the same coin.
So,he's indeed back to natureThank you for the great discussion with you Rollarius

I believe it wasn't easy to do that. But is was sure helpful for getting
over and preserving the past.
One of your most artistic and personal works.

It's a painting full of character, a fitting tribute to your dad. I hope that this painting will always remind you of the good times with your dad and less so of the horrible disease that took him. It's a brilliant painting Dirk I am sure that your dad would be proud!

It's not easy because one doesn't want to make a poor realisation and so bring dishonour to the father

Wonderful portrait of your father, very loss for your loss. It is very hard to lose a parent. Thank you for submitting to the group, much appreciated.
