Yeah I always found it weird when I first saw the teaser for the 2016 film and noticed King Louie was basically the size of King Kong. When I learned they changed him to a Gigantopithecus, though, the size difference made some actual sense since this particular ape is pretty much THE definition of a Great Ape regarding size alone.
