Biography
Ramona Fernanda Pacheco Pórtela was born on April 25, 1992, the daughter of Ernesto Pacheco and Zaira Pórtela, and younger sister of Sofía Felicia. Both Ramona and Sofía had a passion for science at an early age, but in contrast to Sofía's more cerebral and scholarly nature, Ramona was incredibly active and athletic by nature. This fed into her views on science, as her interest in science would fade if the topic at hand was "too lofty" and had no clear application "in the real world." It was this quality that got the interest of their professor, Ray Palmer, a former agent of Checkmate, under the call sign: The Atom. Palmer took on the role of mentor for both of the Pacheco sisters, hoping to entrust them with his knowledge of size alteration, both to protect said knowledge from people of dubious intention, and ideally to apply it where it could benefit humankind. The plan to introduce his history as The Atom to them and his hope that they would accept the responsibility of safeguarding his technology, slowly and gently, was shattered by world's first alien invasion. With the world at stake, Ray revealed his past to the Pórtela sisters, and urged one or both of them to join the group of people coming together to repel the alien invasion. After remarkably little hesitation, Ramona agreed and became The Atom II.

The Darkseid of DCU-2 is a fallen hero once known as Paragon.
