Biography

The Starfire of DCU-2 is not significantly different from DC's mainstream incarnation of the character. I plan to build an extensive culture for Tamaran, primarily inspired by the Ancient Chinese (For Koriand'r and most of Tamaran I'll specifically pull from Confucianism/Ruism). I also plan to significantly change the backstory of her brother, Ryand'r. Princess Koriand'r was the third of three children. Her older sister, Komand'r was understood the first in the line of succession, due to their eldest brother, Ryand'r's albinism. However, it was suspected that their father, King Myand'r, favored Koriand'r, causing the naturally aggressive Komand'r to develop intense feelings of envy for Koriand'r. Koriand'r and Komand'r excelled at combat when training under the warrior monks of Okaara, but the monks generally preferred the friendlier and socially adept Koriand'r, despite Komand'r's arguably greater talent and skill at combat. Tragedy struck the Tamaranean royal family as Okaara was stormed and the two princesses were taken by the Worldkillers. The Worldkillers were not prepared enough for the sisters, and they quickly escaped. However, the two were separated, with the Worldkillers pursuing Koriand'r. The chase led to her crash landing on Earth, and receiving aide from the planets heroes: Knight Owl, Black Lightning, The Flash, Red Star, and the Atom.

Notable Arcs

Doom Patrol: A mix of Justice League War, The Avengers, and Man of Steel if it was about Starfire instead of Superman.
Doom Patrol: Off the Grid: Spyral (DCU-2 analog of SPECTRE) creates OMAC to "put the Doom Patrol in check," OMAC becomes self-aware and decides to put humanity in check. This marks KO's retirement.
Starfire: Analogous to Black Panther and Aquaman but in space, and the main power players are two women (Koriand'r and Komand'r). Also likely to feature Thanagarians.
Doom Patrol: Odyssey: A multi-part story that pits the Doom Patrol (and other superheroes across the multiverse) in an existential fight against a rogue World Forger. This World Forger seeks balance and sees the Multiverse as imbalanced beyond repair. Seeking to destroy the Multiverse in it's current state, the World Forger created Darkseids. The Darkseid of DCU-2 is a fallen hero once known as Paragon.

Trivia

  • Based in part on Wonder Woman from the Patty Jenkins films. Notably the fact that Diana's personality as an amalgam of Hippolyta and Antiope, in tandem with her own natural compassion.
    • The Hippolyta/Antiope dichotomy for Starfire is represented by her own nature and the broader culture of Tamaran.
  • Additionally based on Mantis (as portrayed by Pom Klementieff in the Marvel Cinematic Universe).
    • In fact, I almost always refer to this version of Starfire as Pomfire because she is the only person I'd cast.
  • Design by The Ghost .
