Wow, this is gorgeous. I have one slight, and I mean slight comment. The background seems a little distracting and detracts from the figure a tad.
Anyway, I have featured your artwork in my journal. I hope that is alright. Let me know if it isn't.

I really am curious, what you mean. When you say the background is
a tad distracting. How would you do it differently? Is it the color choice? the texture?

The painting appears very classical, however the background has a very new aged air brushed look to it. Well just slightly, I shouldn't even be putting them in the same catagory, but it's the best I can come up with. I would expect in a classical painting for the background to be the token nature setting, stuffed with cherubs and gods and goddesses, or to be very dark and sparse as in a Rembrant.
Really, I don't know all for sure because my art history is lacking in a lot of places, but that is just my experience from having been to a lot of museums and having seen a lot of books full of old paintings.
It's such a tiny nitpick though. I just thought I'd try and be constructive instead of just the typical smiley face so I took a good look and thought it out before I commented. I hope that is okay.

totally ok, thank you i appreciate it. I think I was trying to go for the opposite of what was expected and create a background that had more of an edge to it..
Or to not go with something that felt too historical.
