This time, for sure, I'll hold my head high, and say"I'm Karasuno's ace!"
Screencap redraw of the epic scene from episode 17.
If you're not familiar, here's Asahi, and in the foreground is Hinata's (the main character) hair.
In the original scene, Asahi's in complete silhouette til Hinata leaves the frame, but I wanted Asahi's details in there, so I combined two shots sorta.
Overall everything took a bit more brain power than usual haha, but it was incredibly fun! I wasn't sure I could pull it off. I was especially wondering how the heck to render a light starbursting using only a hard brush.

The lighting effect looks so cool in this! I really love the glare 'cause I've never known how to draw that!
And I still can't believe you drew all of the little people in the background! I probably would've chickened out and drew grey blobs in their place.

Thanks! It was fun figuring out the glare! I like just slapping stuff down trying to figure out how to make it look convincing (with lineless at least). Ugh, the people in the background were so annoying... I was kinda annoyed with myself for not putting more detail into them lol!

Holy cow, that's amazing to hear. I feel like I'm really bad at portraying emotion or feeling in my stuff, so that's just freaking amazing you got this from that! Granted, I got the composition from a screenshot... But I did improve (I think lol) the pose a ton, so yeah! So glad you like it! This scene, holy cow, it's so intense and inspiring and amazing!! I'm taking things back to the 50s/60s era after some influence. A lot of the examples I saw for "retro" burgers had shredded lettuce (if they had lettuce at all) like this--> fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net… , so I wanted to be proper. Thing is though I'm trying to draw realistically so more color and value, and time- which I'm not used to D: But looking forward to the day I finish it!
Ah the blur doesn't diminish it too badly, the bold colors define it enough so it still looks great!
