of course i gave roy prominence in this lineup. notice also how my nemisis, marth, is facing away from us, so that i barely had to spend any time drawing him. he is only in there because i wanted to include all the fire emblem characters. otherwise i would have just drawn roy and lucina.

But Marth is special. He is the only one with blue... wait, no. He is the only one with a sword... He is the only character of ambiguous gender! No, that either. He is the only one with a name that rhymes with how someone with a speech impediment says "March."

Ike's game on the Gamecube is worth recommending to you, a person who has not played it but has been introduced to Fire Emblem mechanics.

I want to create a Punnett Square for Fire Emblem phenotypes. Does having one parent with blue hair and one with green result in teal hair? How is it that Ike has blue hair and his sister Mist has brown hair? Why do so many female characters have green hair? These are pressing questions.

Ike's dad has brown hair. Mind you that is a different color of brown than his sister. I think their mom had green hair. Blue is typically the hero, green is good natured, red is fiery, black is moody, blonde is pure, brown is for normal people, pink is innocent, white is shy, purple is carefree, and darker shades of hair color tend to mean a more serious demeanor. Blue and green hair almost always mean "good guy" unless they are very dark, in which case they are meant to be rivals (or sometimes foils) to the good guys. Purple haired characters win the award for "most likely to do that anime thing where the character lays on their back and goes eh while staring at the sky and talking to someone who is seriously worked up, telling them to take life seriously."
