"She was inside the garden"This is the very last painting I finished when i'm still 18 so it's very special >//////< It's highly inspired by Frances Hodgson Burnett's novel "The Secret Garden"... It was the scene when the robin lead Mary to a mysterious door, by then she discovered a secret garden which is hidden for so many years. I really knocked my head off because the bird isn't really a robin XDDDD
it's more like a hybrid of a chicken and an owl 
LOLZ It was so hilarious! And that oversize key is killing me. It won't fit in the key hole XDDDD those flowers are thanks to Elizabeth Conlon's book on flower paintings... whew, i really learned a lot from that book 
despite the bird and all, I did my very very best to do this painting so everyone, please... enjoy

as far as the scanner goes...try putting a few layers of paper on top of the picture when you've placed in your scanner. Dark colored paper is best and then ifthe paper shows through on the sides when it's scanned you can crop that portion out. It has worked for me..worth a try! Lovely picture..wonderful setail. The Secret Garden was a favorite of mine growing up

If you scanned it, that's probably your answer to why it looked lighter. It's a known fact that SCANNERS EAT COLOR. Esp. MINE.
