Description A real duck is never afraid to wear his kilt in public. The same laws apply for his spats as well.

For those of you who do not know who this is, This is Rory McDuckula, Count Duckula's cousin from my favorite cartoon...Count Duckula. Rory is my favorite of Duckula's relatives and my favorite of one time characters from the show. Him and the judge from "Whodunnit." The first obvious reason is that he has the same name as mine. How many cartoon characters do you know that have the name Rory? Let alone actually being on my favorite cartoon. But I don't think most people know that Rory is actually an Irish name. At least that's what I was always told. Then why would you give a Scottish character an Irish name? It's not that important really.

I made a few cosmetic changes to Rory. Some of you may notice and some may not. The first obvious thing I did was remove his fangs. I wanted him to appear more friendly and not as some evil vampire duck. The second thing I did was that I left out the small bag he keeps in front of his kilt and replaced it with a simple belt. I found it to be too much for his attire and it seemed more like he was wearing a fanny pack. I also kept the color of his neck and hands white. In the cartoon they seem to have sort of a flesh color appearing as if he had been plucked of his feathers. I never cared for that exposed skin look and kept the feathers on there instead. I also got rid of the sunken eyes which all the vampire characters on the show have. This seems to have helped increase the more friendly look that I was going for and takes away the somewhat sinister image from the cartoon. I also made his bill orange instead of yellow. I never liked cartoon ducks having yellow bills. It just doesn't seem right.

I also decided to have a little fun with this picture. If you notice down below I removed his red pants which he wears in the cartoon and colored it orange like his bill. And we all know that in the cartoon world the color of a bird character's beak (Or in this case bill.) always matches with their legs and feet. In other words I have exposed Rory's bare duck legs for all the world to see, indicating that yes, there is nothing underneath his kilt. Not only have I made him friendlier, but also a little naughty as well.

Aside from that I also added some details to his spats. I added buttons on the sides and put straps underneath the soles of his boots which the cartoon seemed to lack. I like details when it comes to these sort of things.

So what is Rory McDuckula up to these days? After meeting his cousin in 1987 he also decided to become a vegetarian and has been one ever since. He enjoys the many health benefits of being one. He also had his fangs removed and stopped terrorizing the innocent folks in town. He now enjoys sitting in the pubs on quiet evenings for a few pints before returning to his castle at the end of the day. He also enjoys painting, writing poetry and is currently learning the bagpipes.

This is the most recent picture of Rory taken only a few days ago in Scotland. Here we find him sitting in one of his favorite pubs that he frequents enjoying a Bellhaven.

Rory sends his love and wishes you all the best.

He isn't Duckula's cousin, he is his grandfathers granduncle.

Jangs! I just drew this chappie recently myself. Ducks do have yellow bill in real life to, by the way, so it's not that odd. I never knew Rory was an Irish name (Mc is also Irish instead of the more Scottish Mac) but both names are popular in Scotland.

I don't know why I thought ducks have orange bills. Maybe it's because Daffy does. I already made an alteration in the drawing. I was pretty tired when I drew it and I noticed the buttons on his spats were way off center. I fixed them and put them in their proper place. I told you I was a perfectionist. If I have time maybe I'll change his bill and legs to yellow.

I also think the title card could've been a spelling mistake (Transylvanian Take-Away and The Great Ducktective were mispelled too, possibly) as Igor and Rory himself clearly say 'Mac' rather than 'Mc'.

Seems to me that the folks at Cosgrove Hall need to do some research before making these cartoons. But, we're human and we all make mistakes. I think...

Either that or some of the overseas artist's made some translation boo boos. I do it myself at times. But I'm always the 1st to note spelling mistakes!

I notice small cosmetic mistakes on Count Duckula. For example Don Diego's eyes are sometimes red and then white. Things like that.

That happens on a LOT of shows! I like looking for stuff like that.
