"The sadness dries out the heart of whom does not have tears anymore to cry. " quote by Romain GuilleaumesThis is one of the facets that my character often shows : Her sadness and deep melancholy. Β
Her dangerous outlaw father was hunged in front of her when she was only 8-9 years old. She is orpheline, does not have friends, is cocooned etc...
She's living in a world when only rivers of tears and a mood atmosphere makes her "alive" ...

While the shape of the face feels too rounded and the chin too sharp, this piece is still beautiful! I love the colours and how some are subtle, while others are stark against the picture! And while the face shape bothers me, the features do not! I love the mouth how it has an almost sneer on it, and how the eyes are beautiful and almost hauntingly sad!
The colouring about the nose gives off an almost smudged and dirty feel, and I wonder if that was intentional?
The hair is my favorite part, just how wild and remorseful it feels with it's bright fiery strands whipping about this dark atmosphere!

Yes the face is too rounded but it was too late to correct it... (Although I wanted to make her having a particular and not a stereotype one).
When you say " I love the colours and how some are subtle, while others are stark against the picture!", can you give me some details about it ?
For the nose... Well... I try to make a character unique and somehow semi-realistic. I usually remarqued when the artists draw characters crying, they seems to concentrate only on drawing tears and some blush on the face. I know more about crying... Experimenting it by myself, I remarqued that my crying eyes and nose become red (in particular color)... So, that's how I would like to share that experiment in this drawing, transfer the realistic emotions to a drawn character... I hope you understand my intentions and in colouring on that way...

Like the red hair is BRIGHT and super stands out, but the yellows and blues blend in more with the darkness of the picture!

This is very emotionally raw.Β I'm going to try and say as many intelligent things about this as I can.Β I like how you interwove the dark lines with the lines showing the character.Β I can see the shapes of water droplets in her hair, and the yellow circle in the blue and black with lines coming down make it look like she's getting rained on on a dark and abandoned street.Β You can really feel the story in this picture.Β I can't really offer any suggestions for improvement.Β Frankly, I would shit myself if I drew something this good.Β
