Name: Amalia
Reason: Hebrew; means 'Work of God'.
Given to her by Charredan before birth due to how beautiful her egg was; being an iridescent, glossy charcoal color and having gorgeous, intricate, red and gold flame-like designs on it. Charredan thought it looked like a work of art.

Personality:
Ever since birth Amalia has been a shy, nervous dragon who's more than afraid to leave the Fire Tower. In fact, when she was first hatched, she shied away from Charredan's presence.
Even after all these years, Amalia's still the same. She's still nervous, shy, and awkward, still keeping to the sidelines and watching the world. Although, while most introverts would be comfortable with their reclusive behaviour, Amalia kind of… Hates it. She wants and wishes she could be more of an extrovert and make friends and explore the world, but she just can't. Her phobias and fears get in her way and she often freezes or runs away when confronted with anything that she's scared of.
As of late though, Amalia has been able to breach her shy and reclusive nature and is slowly making strides to be more social and less afraid of the world.

Life At the Academy:
Much to her misfortune, Amalia was born with a crippling fear of strangers, resulting in her being a very lonesome dragon. Of course, she obviously grew comfortable around and opened up to Charredan as he was her caretaker.
However, despite how much he tried to encourage her to socialize and interact with the other fire whelps, she preferred to hide under his tail or beneath a mountain of pillows and watch with an uncanny curiosity from afar.

And that's… Pretty much how all of Amalia's childhood was spent; hiding away from others and watching them from the safety of an empty corner. Especially after watching one of the other whelps take a nosedive off one of the balconies in an idiotic attempt to fly- after watching that horrifying display (which nearly gave Charredan a heart attack mind you), she swore she would never have her paws leave the ground. There's no shame in a grounded dragon. ...Right?

Over time, Amalia's introverted nature developed in her taking a slight interest in books. While she's not exactly a bookworm, she can get lost in a good fantasy book. Many tend to call her a 'nerd’ because of this but really, when you're too scared to leave your home- books are your only option to experience the world.

Once she was a Juvenile, Charredan took it upon himself to force her into taking some classes and signed her up for a few. She needed to learn to break her phobias and socialize with others; her reclusive lifestyle was not healthy at all and he knew that it would eventually affect her mental health- if it hadn't already.

Amalia understood why he had forced her to take classes as she knows he cares for her and just wants what's best for her, but she kind of wishes he hasn't picked certain classes… Like Flying, Swimming, and Games… There's just- Too many students.
For now, all she can do is try her best and hope she can leave the class first so she doesn't have to interact with anyone.

Relationship with Keeper:
Charredan - Amalia loves Charredan dearly, as she sees him as a father figure; he was always there to protect and comfort her when she was scared, but also pushed her to try and be more social and be the best dragon she could be. She goes to him whenever she needs advice or is struggling with her phobias to this day.
As of recently, Charredan has encouraged Amalia to help him tend to the eggs and whelps in the hatchery in hopes to get her to be more confident and social, but Amalia has been neglectant to accept his offer.

However despite what many might think, Charredan seems a bit discouraged that Amalia refuses to take his Wilderness Survival Class and worries that her Agoraphobia is going to continue to get worse if she doesn't have first-hand experience out in the wilderness of Parum Artifex soon.
Charredan is also very supportive of her relationship with Grey. He thinks it'll be healthy for her and will get her out of the academy more.

Mental Attributes:
- Meditative Nature; When Amalia is alone, it's easy for her to remain calm and meditate. Which is important for her right now as she can easily get worked up when forced into stressful and emotional situations, especially when those situations involve her fears… Like Flying Class. She meditates quite often.
- Compassionate; Despite her shy and reclusive nature, Amalia's a very sweet and compassionate dragon. She believes kindness is the most important thing. In all honesty, Amalia has a really big heart with way too much love to give. This side of her is only seen by those she loves and trusts most.
- Loyal; Amalia is extremely loyal to those who earns her trust. It would take something really drastic for her to suddenly not care for someone she's gotten to know and trust.
- Awe-Inspired; To put things simply, Amalia is easily amazed and inspired by the beauty that this world has to offer. She finds beauty in everything; even something small and insignificant or something some would consider useless, worthless, or even trash. Something as simple as seeing fireflies at night or visiting a spot with a ton of butterflies amazes her; finding a shiny smooth stone or a colorful seashell. Small things that others would either ignore or take for granted, she finds them awe-inspiring and beautiful. It's part of the reason why she collects old antique keys.

Mental Shortcomings:
- Stranger Anxiety; Amalia has always had a fear of strangers and of meeting new people, ever since she was born. She's bound to stray away from crowds and social events because of this. She's the first one to class and is definitely the first one to leave. She usually seeks out the less crowded and less traveled hallways and never signs up for the extremely popular classes- unless she really loves the subject at hand.
- Agoraphobic; Due to her shy nature and her Stranger Anxiety, Amalia has developed a severe case of Agoraphobia and therefore, really dislikes leaving her room in the Fire Tower. She can and has been able to leave the Fire Tower to attend classes, but for the most part Amalia will be very nervous and uneasy while out and about. She refuses however, to leave the academy. The academy is her safe place and the outside world is too large and scary for her.
- Aerophobic; After watching a whelp plunge straight off of one of the tower balconies in an attempt to fly, Amalia has sworn that she would never fly. Of course, Charredan forced Amalia to take the Flying Class in order to break her of this phobia. Considering the fact that Keeper Zephyro hasn't been able to get her off of the ground even once in his Flying Class, it's clear that breaking Amalia of her Aerophobia won't be happening anytime soon.
- Awkward and Shy; Amalia's really awkward and shy around others and is known to talk quietly and stutter when she's forced to talk to people. She almost never makes eye contact with anyone unless she's really comfortable with them and often bites her lip.
- Cowardly; Amalia is NOT a fighter and that's pretty obvious. She's physically weak and therefore she immediately backs down when confronted.
- Loner; For the most part, Amalia is a loner due to her Stranger Anxiety and her shy personality. With the exception of her close friends and those she trusts, Amalia prefers to be by herself, as crowds and places filled with dragons tend to really scare and stress her out.

Physical Attributes:
- Soft Spoken; Due to her shy and uneasy nature, Amalia is very soft spoken. More than often, it can be hard to hear her and if the environment she's currently in is really loud, you definitely won't hear a single word she says. While this may sound like a bad thing, for her, it's a damn good thing; she hates being heard and having to be in the spotlight. That, and her soft voice makes her easier to approach. It also allows her to make snarky comments under her breath about nasty dragons without getting into trouble, ohoho~
- Fire Resistant; Given her element, Amalia is naturally resistant to heat, fire, and anything related to it. She's also naturally very warm because of her element as well.
- Large Wings; Amalia's wings are much larger than in comparison to her body. While that would normally make them very heavy for your average dragon, Amalia's membranes are very light and thin, thus making them perfect for flight. Because of their lightweight and large size, her wings are able to easily catch wind currents and keep her up in the air for long distances at a time, without the need of flapping too often. One solid, strong flap should keep her airborne for a long while. All in all many would probably compare her flight similarly to that of a Barn Owl's; effortless, lightweight, and fairly silent... If she actually ever flew, that it.

Physical Shortcomings:
- Large Wings; Amalia has pretty large wings in comparison to the rest of her body, especially her legs. Because of this, they have a tendency to slow her down when running; if not kept tightly close to her body, they will more often than not to catch the wind and slow her down, or even pull her back if she's running fast enough.
- Thin Membranes; While having thin membranes might be an advantage in the flight department, they're a hindrance when it comes to fighting. They're easy to rip and tear. Because of this they are a weak spot for Amalia when it comes to fighting. They're also hard to heal; as they take awhile to stop bleeding and take even longer to scab over and mend themselves. She won't bleed out from a damaged membrane since the veins are so tiny, but if left unchecked because they take so long to heal, they could risk getting infected and rendering her sick.
- Stubby Legs; Along with her large wings, Amalia has really stubby, short legs. Because of this she's not exactly the fastest runner. She also has a very low range when it comes to close range fighting, which is why she would resort to biting, charging, and whipping with her tail if she ever had to fight- if is the key word there.
- Soft Scales; Unlike most Artisans, Amalia actually has very soft and fragile scales that can be easily broken off. This makes her much more vulnerable to getting wounds. Attacks that involve eating away at the scales and skin are much more effective an her and it unfortunately takes her longer to heal from such wounds. Her own ability 'Lava Venom' does not affect her scales however, due to being fireborne.
- Weak; Amalia is physically very weak and is not a heavy hitter at all. She absolutely can not defend herself in a fight.

Breath Abilities:
Lava Venom - Amalia has a 'venom sac’ in her throat filled with boiling hot lava. By contracting the muscles in her throat she can squeeze the lava out and spit it similarly to how a snake can spit its venom. Surprisingly, the lava she spits is slightly more liquid-quese and thus, it acts a little more-so like venom than regular lava would. The venom spits as far as your average breath ability. She can also just keep the 'venom' in her mouth and use it to bite down on her enemies to 'poison' them. The venom both burns the victim's scales/skin as lava would, and can even burn the inside of the infected area if the lava venom gets into the bite wound.

Amalia has an uncanny habit of doing this when she's spooked; although the venom doesn't actually spit far and usually just get caught up on her lips. Oops.
The back of her mouth glows when she uses this ability and using this ability too much can cause her to end up with a sore throat and a hoarse voice afterwards for a few days, as it will actually burn her mouth and throat slightly. She also claims that her mouth tastes like sulfur and boiled eggs for a few hours afterwards. Weird.

Fiery Fae - Amalia's eyes and markings will glow and even flicker when she uses this ability. Amalia has the ability to create small, fairy-like, wisps of fire that flutter about and surround her. These wisps can be used to illuminate dark places and can also be used to deter anyone from attacking her, as she can have them gather in one place to create a sort of 'fire shield'. They will obviously burn whoever they touch, besides Amalia and other Fire Dragons. She can also shoot them towards people with a swish of her tail, flap of her wings, or if she blows them towards others.

More often than not, since they can't harm her, they will actually land on her. This ability is actually passive when she meditates and at least one has to be made while meditating at all times. She usually has it on either her head or on the tip of her nose. When summoning them, they will flicker to life from just a few embers. When summoning them away, they die out the same way a flame would. If surprised while meditating, the far wisps will suddenly burn up into a puff of thick smoke before disappearing.
Oddly enough, some question if they're actual fire faeries or not, given that they seem to have a mind of their own when she meditates and tend to make a sort of 'jingling' noise that sounds similar to feminine giggling...

Incinerate - Amalia's markings will slowly turn to a hot red color when she uses this ability.
When filled with extremely negative emotion, Amalia will subconsciously raise the internal temperature of her body, causing her to 'sweat’ a very thick and oily substance that is highly flammable. It smells like a mixture of gasoline and tar.
When she reaches a certain internal temperature, she’ll unconsciously expel said heat through her pores and the oil she has been sweating on her body bursts into a fiery explosion of bright solar flare-like flames. While the flare-like flames only go about fifteen feet maximum, the results from this attack are devastating. This ability is her strongest ability and thus, takes a lot of time, energy, and effort to use it. This is why she's only ever been able to activate it subconsciously through her emotions.

Incinerate does not affect other Fire Dragons, but does take a lot out of her both physically and emotionally, so Amalia usually passes out after using it.
After she uses the ability, her red hot markings will turn a deep charcoal color instead and will even emit a thick smoke and embers from them until her internal body temperature regulates. Amalia is always extremely thirsty when she wakes up.

Grey - Amalia met Grey in the Baking Class they shared together due to Keeper Hart deciding to play 'matchmaker’ with the students again. Oh boy. While their first encounter was a tad bit embarrassing- with Amalia getting Grey covered in flour by accident- the two hit it off pretty well afterwards and things progressed from there. In all honesty, Amalia's ver glad and grateful Keeper Hart had put them together; otherwise they probably would have never crossed paths.

The two are very comfortable with each other and underneath the 'dating’ title, they are very good, close friends. They enjoy spending time with each other doing whatever really, as the two are very easy going and relaxed. That's probably why the two get along so well. They can commonly be seen around the Academy cuddling, especially during the winter; Amalia gets cold easily due to her element and Grey's fluffy bunny-like fur, soft feathers, and thick wing membranes makes him incredibly warm. She also adores the fact that he calls her 'Amie' and gets flustered and a little giddy when he does so.
While most others would probably find this sort of relationship boring and otherwise 'lacking’, the two prefer it this way; there's no pressure or drama and the two can develop it on their own terms, especially with Amalia being so shy and all. Honestly, they're a good match for each other.

- Amalia has the ability to completely flatten her fins against her body at will. This ability is also passive when she is scared or nervous.
- Towards the end of Jewelry Making Class, Amalia will ask Djinner if she can take any of the antique keys she has back to her room with her. If not one wants to use them, they're free for her to take. She likes to string them up in her room like little fairy lights.
- Amalia has a body structure that is somewhat similar to that of a Brachiosaurus's.
- Her black scales are glossy and iridescent, much like the shell of her egg before she was hatched.

When filled with extremely negative emotion, Amalia will subconsciously raise the internal temperature of her body, causing her to 'sweat’ a very thick and oily substance that is highly flammable. It smells like a mixture of gasoline and tar.
When she reaches a certain internal temperature, she’ll unconsciously expel said heat through her pores and the oil she has been sweating on her body bursts into a fiery explosion of bright solar flare-like flames. While the flare-like flames only go about fifteen feet maximum, the results from this attack are devastating. This ability is her strongest ability and thus, takes a lot of time, energy, and effort to use it. This is why she's only ever been able to activate it subconsciously through her emotions.

Incinerate does not affect other Fire Dragons, but does take a lot out of her both physically and emotionally, so Amalia usually passes out after using it.
After she uses the ability, her red hot markings will turn a deep charcoal color instead and will even emit a thick smoke and embers from them until her internal body temperature regulates. Amalia is always extremely thirsty when she wakes up.

Grey - Amalia met Grey in the Baking Class they shared together due to Keeper Hart deciding to play 'matchmaker’ with the students again. Oh boy. While their first encounter was a tad bit embarrassing- with Amalia getting Grey covered in flour by accident- the two hit it off pretty well afterwards and things progressed from there. In all honesty, Amalia's ver glad and grateful Keeper Hart had put them together; otherwise they probably would have never crossed paths.

The two are very comfortable with each other and underneath the 'dating’ title, they are very good, close friends. They enjoy spending time with each other doing whatever really, as the two are very easy going and relaxed. That's probably why the two get along so well. They can commonly be seen around the Academy cuddling, especially during the winter; Amalia gets cold easily due to her element and Grey's fluffy bunny-like fur, soft feathers, and thick wing membranes makes him incredibly warm. She also adores the fact that he calls her 'Amie' and gets flustered and a little giddy when he does so.
While most others would probably find this sort of relationship boring and otherwise 'lacking’, the two prefer it this way; there's no pressure or drama and the two can develop it on their own terms, especially with Amalia being so shy and all. Honestly, they're a good match for each other.

- Amalia has the ability to completely flatten her fins against her body at will. This ability is also passive when she is scared or nervous.
- Towards the end of Jewelry Making Class, Amalia will ask Djinner if she can take any of the antique keys she has back to her room with her. If not one wants to use them, they're free for her to take. She likes to string them up in her room like little fairy lights.
- Amalia has a body structure that is somewhat similar to that of a Brachiosaurus's.
- Her black scales are glossy and iridescent, much like the shell of her egg before she was hatched.
