Description My medication drawer at college. Lithicarb (lithium), seroquel (quetiapine), zyprexa (olanzipine), sertraline (zoloft), fluoxetine (prozac), citalopram (celexa), a hospital bracelet, information on bipolar disorder, appointment cards with a psychiatrist.

Sometimes I hate the side effects and hate that this is my life, but some days it's not so bad.

definitely better than being sick! Hope you don't have too many terrible side effects!

You have tons of meds! I only have seroquel and abilify. Do you take them all in a day?

I honestly want to be off the meds, but my grades get lower when I do, since I can't concentrate due to racing thoughts and I don't sleep. So, yeah, I can't.

It killed some of my creativity though. I'm not able to write poems or stories anymore since I took them.

it's like a 'living' collage, so glad you decided to make it art, relate so much to your drawer

I'm just happy when the side effects don't make gain weight. >////< Not that the meds really help much anyways. Or maybe it's the doctors, lol.

And I feel kind of sad that I either have been on those meds, or my mom has.

I don't like that side effect either
I hope that doctors do help you.

Yeah. I refuse to go on meds that cause it after losing 30 pounds. Thanks. *hugs*

Is there any way you can get medication without seeing the psychiatrist? It's worrying that you're not seeing one.

I'm on couple of the same meds as you, for severe clinical depression, so far I've been lucky enough to have no extreme side effects. I feel the same way though, sometimes I hate that I have to take medication to be able to function. But it is so much better to take them then to try to muddle through without, eh?

The worst side effect I get is having my hands shake from the lithium. It's hard to deal with because I can't write probably because of the shakes.
But it is better than trying to get by without medication.

Ah, that would be hard. I had to stop writing my notes for school when I was in high school due to a wrist injury that still hasn't healed. I love the feel of writing, I understand how that could be frustrating.
Definitely better on the medication then off.

I'm not fond of the side effects either, but wouldn't you agree its better than when youre off your meds?

The side effects are a hell of a lot easier to deal with, most of the time >.<

I'm sorry that you go through something similar. I'm usually ok with having bipolar, but sometimes I just hate it so much.
