Today is Valentine's Day! A.K.A the one everyone pretends to care about! Yeah, as a teen ace, I could give less of a shit about the romance part of Valentine's. I only care about the free chocolate and pink aesthetic. But, being in the ace community for awhile has taught me something about today: it's not just about romance. It's about all relationships, platonic, familial, etc. So, I wanted to show that in this. Banjo and Kazooie representing the lovey-dovey relationship while Yooka and Laylee are the platonic relationship (how many times have I said that word?!). I've stated it before, but I see Y&L as more best friends or siblings than a couple. Either because I thought for a long time Laylee was a boy or the comic book, because they act so much like brother and sister there. But if you ship them, good on ya! I really like how this came out, especially Banjo and Yooka. This may be the best I've drawn Yooka ever. Also fun fact: this is the first time I've drawn Banjo and Kazooie kissing. Sounds kinda weird, but I honestly prefer drawing cuddling, even if I love Banjo's expression here. Anyway, spend the day with your loved ones, whoever that may be!
