For those of you wondering why Sonic looks utterly terrified when Chaos isn't utterly terrifying...
Well, keep in mind, this is basically SatAM Sonic and he's never SEEN Chaos before. Plus, in the IoA arc of Nexus, he's been kidnapped by the Nocturnus Clan, a group of Echidnas from Angel Island, who told him they were going to sacrifice him to their water god who's more or less going to drink his blood.

Sooo, yeah, if a thing you'd been told was basically a water vampire was now looming over you -with water dripping down from its liquid body, those droplets splashing on and around you- you'd be terrified too.
Also, yes, that is blood on Sonic's chest. Shayde used her glass blade to make the wound.
