I didn't get as far as game seven in the Touhou series- but the Prismriver sisters do seem pretty cool- thanks for the comparison!

There are a lot of humanized musical instruments in Touhou. The most famous are The Phantom Ensemble (Prismriver sisters), but there's also Raiko Horikawa (a taiko drum reincarnated in a modern battery (the most fun of all extra bosses xD)) and the Tsukumo sisters (a biwa and a koto).

I've just read their wiki entries, and now I really want to go catch up on the Touhou games!
