To my usual fans who watch me for my POTO art this piece is probably not for you. It is done as fanart for the anime show "Fullmetal Alchemist" (aka Full Metal Alchemist or FMA). Any further pieces done for this fandom should have FMA at the beginning of the description, to differentiate them.

My first piece of FMA fanart! *boogies*

I did this for a club I belong to, *fullmetal-alchemists (I also hope to belong to a second one, ~maes-hughes ); of course, I also did this for myself because I just I really love this series. I wanted to draw Ed first, even finished a pencil sketch of Ed and Al, but then did this. Go figure.

This is Maes Hughes. He works for the military of the FMA world as an investigative officer and is very, very good at his job - perhaps even too good for his own good. Though not an alchemist, he is highly skilled at throwing knives. Other attributes include his rabid, obsessive dedication to his wife and daughter. He commonly shows off his cute daughter by shoving pictures of her in the faces of anyone and everyone he meets, and he makes sure to encourage Roy Mustang to "find a wife" when he talks to him on the phone. Sigh, whats not to love! If I was to fancrush on anyone in the FMA series, it would have to be him!

My next FMA project is of a scene I haven't seen any FMA artist draw fanart of (I could be wrong) ... the horrific and yet crucial scene of what happens to Ed and Al when they attempt human transmutation. I still can't believe I even attempted to draw Al in his armor form. Anyway, I wonder what you will think if I finish that sketch ...
