2087: Sixty years after the Great War.

Roughly 1.2 million people survived. Roughly, because no one kept count. Most survivors now live in small communities, either underground in former bomb shelters, or above ground in reinforced gated communities. These people are called Dwellers. They live safe lives, under very strict rules and conditions. Others, however, roam the earth on their own. Wanderers, are what they are called. It’s a free life. Either by choice or by being evicted from their Dweller community for not conforming to the conditions and rules. These Unwanted, as well as the Wanderers, are often treated as criminals by those living in the communities.

Moon was a Dweller child, born in a gated community just 10 miles outside of Los Angeles. Living conditions were not easy, but generally considered to be just fine. After the Big Move, when people first started rebuilding after the war, Moon’s mother quickly adapted to the community’s way of life. Her father had a much harder time, however. Having been an outlaw biker, obeying rules was not exactly his favorite way of life. But because his wife loved it there and he loved her more than life, he gave in. Moon watched in pain as the once so proud and independent man slowly turned into an unresisting follower, a melancholic shell of a man, broken by the regime of the community. A few weeks after her mother died of a flu, she found her father…who had finally put an end to his ever growing misery. Still her daddy’s little girl, Moon became a notorious pain in the ass after this.

The community tried their best to keep her in line, but with Moon, trouble was never far away.

Even though they were understanding and patient with regards to the situation, it couldn’t last forever.

Finally, it was Moon who decided to become a Wanderer, before the choice would have undoubtedly been made for her. Just a matter of time before the community would’ve declared her Unwanted. With her father’s favorite knife and sitting on the Harley he had safely hidden away in a concrete shed, she was ready to go. Just one more glance before riding off…
