All of my new watchers are going to think I have this weird thing for tortoises. :'c

BUT REALLY, this is all concept work for one of my classes this semester- the aim is to create a story and develop it visually. Personally, I find storytelling with words incredibly difficult, so I made an incredibly dumbed down childrens story about self discovery or some junk...it's starting to evolve into more of an adventure tale, thank goodness, 'cause that first idea was driving me nuts.

The animals in our story have to be based on animals at the Columbus Zoo, and they just so happen to have a fantastic collection of terrapins, tortoises, and turtles as well as three leetle babysize moose. I jumped on the occasion. c:

This is some of the more presentable work I've done so far- Top three are quick graphite drawings with digital color blocked over 'em, the two tortoises below are studies of Indian Star Tortoise patterning, and the three below those are character designs for Ruby, the main tortoise girl. The moose kiddo on the right is a study for the other main character, who I think is going to be named Dustin. That one's drawn with ink and marker, the rest is digital.

Still so much to do for this project, aaah
