Description #Edit:
Update with slightly better version and more detail in the shadows

Original Description:
_______________________________________________

Well here's little something taken with my new toy, Tokina 10-17mm f/3,5-4,5 AT-X DX Fish-eye lens.

We found these industrial falls of Kellokoski almost by an accident with ~ageofloss when returning from our annual trip to the national park of lake PΓ€ijΓ€nne. We decided to take a random exit on the freeway to take some photos when I noticed the sign 'Kellokoski' and remembred there being some kinda rapids / falls. Small world

I decided to make it a HDR since the foreground was shaded and there was huge contrast with the sky involved.

I hope ya like it!

Wow!

Amazing composition, juxtaposition, everything.

I don't think I could be this successful with flowing water when doing an HDR. Fantastic HDR! Definitely a favorite.

To be honest I wasn't sure what to expect from Photomatix with the water but luckily it turned out pretty nice

The house reminds me of a grinning big, squat critter with antennas that has settled down there by the falls. I think it's the round fisheye distortion that makes it look somehow alive and organic. The unusual perspective adds to this fantasy-like feel. And I like the hues of the sky and the water, both going from white to deep blue - HDR was a great choice here :]

Khehe, cool. Usually I write more constructive critique, but people of your caliber, who get tons of faves and comments, don't ever seem to reply. So... I just comment like that to less known deviants.

RS-foto In reply to john-pecko [2007-09-27 20:53:05 +0000 UTC]

Yeah It's gotten pretty hard to keep track on all comments and favs, but i always read every comment and try to reply. Favs are harder, they usually tend to pile up so much it's almost impossible to say thanks to everyone, which is a shame..
