"The Micronaut"

I envision a future where mankind has reinvented itself through 'self evolution'. Some day you will be able to 'be' anything we can imagine. Not only will we live indefinitely, we will be able to take any form we wish, and live a multitude of lives limited only by our imaginations.

This may not be so far out! When we hit the "Technological singularity", (an "intelligence explosion", suggesting that if machines could even slightly surpass human intellect, they could improve their own designs in ways unforeseen by their designers, and thus recursively augment themselves into far greater intelligences. The first such improvements might be small, but as the machine became more intelligent it would become better at becoming more intelligent, which could lead to a cascade of self-improvements and a sudden surge to superintelligence (or a singularity).) we will, by using the machines yet to be invented, be able to speed up, and control the path of human evolution. We will develop into a new "post human" form.

This painting is one of many visions I have of the future. A blind boy* has invented a "bio-vehicle" (a living machine) to take him through a microbic universe.

*(Yes!, of course he could cure his own blindness … He's probably just got his eyeballs in the shop for the latest upgrade!)

Yes, being able to 'inhabit' nigh any form one likes, controlling both the kinds, numbers, intensities and environments of one's 'strap-on' super-human sensory and collectively integrated appendages and correspondingly enhanced sensibilities... (dealing with the vastness and new bandwidths' organization of the assimilation of experience being the true brakes on meaningful 'self'-evolution) effectively allowing a coherent sapient experience consciousness to dwell multidimensionally and least restrictedly... is my anticipation of worlds to come. 'Looking within one-self' will become a whole new set of concepts... Coherence of sapience, or the old fashioned sanity of the supra-human beings, will come to be more and more fundamental to both art and social well-being. Many 'species' of humanoids sustained by some commonalities of aligned and interdependent evolved bearing is likely to come. Humanity and humility will gain new slants of meaning, so profound Babel's Tower will be a child-thing of long forgotten Past... The me-system and the you-system (and systemic cross pollination in the collective being's system will come to fruition in beings literally sharing streams of sense gathering 'inputs' and actuators...

There was a case in France, where, at the same time the soldier was shot in Africa, his loved one was pierced through with a sharp 'synergy' pain of a linked organism. This noumenal bridging will likely be the path of the more transparent phenomenological bio-augmentation in the not so distant future... The self-dino will come along to partake of the augmented mind-traveller.

Wow the concept is great, but I feel like I can relate to this piece personally. I've always had this reoccurring dream where I would float through the deepest parts of the ocean and uncovering tons of never before seen deep sea species. I would do this in an indestructible bubble. The resemblance to my dream is uncanny!

Sorry to bother you , but can you clear me this... the difference between the singularity and the rise of a super intelligence is that the first one would never "rebel" against humanity but the second one surely will ?

I like this idea, as well as the idea of becoming so intelligent that we simply shift into another dimension, one of pure vibrational energy and consciousness.

The times you write about, not so far off maybe.

Absolutely my favorite of your recent work! I only glanced thru what you wrote about it. I believe that when we come to realize the obsolescence of our monetary based economy and our need for ownership a spectacular leap forward in technology will occur.I am planning to one day do a show (be in and curate) based on the Zeitgeist Movement, the activist arm of the Venus Project. I don't know if it will ever come to fruition but I am going to try.If you have never heard of it here is a good recent lecture to check out if you are so inclined:

Yes, that's a possible problem - that and global warming. Too much power in the hands of a few, in this new world one person has the power to effect the many. That is dangerous.
