Okay so it's only our Aggie and she doesn't have three heads, but she does guard our house and it certainly feels like I'm living in hell from time to time.
anyway... my first attempt at a bit of photo jiggery pokery, it's probably a bit clumsy but I was so inspired by From The Night by =morbidthegrim [link] and he was good enough to upload a bit of a tutorial for it [link] that I delved straight in on my laptop without even plugging in my tablet (sorry Mr Scout!! )
what do you think? Be honest now, but if you're going to give me technique tips remember to use words of one or two syllables otherwise.....whooosh!!! straight over my head and you've wasted your breath!
I think I might get me some black paper and draw it

STUNNING. The original photograph is cute, but as it was wouldn't be a whole lot to look at. And with your editing, you took an "everyday" shot and made it amazing. Not only are the eyes so vibrant and peering, but the dog is a cutie as well (which doesn't hurt in the least bit. 
I wouldn't mind seeing more edits like this from you at all!

I actually like this a LOT. The whole point of Cerberus is that he's suposed to be in the Underworld, which I'm sure is quite dark. So this profiles him nicely. I mean, what could be scarier than being in the Underworld and seeing just these eerie, glowing eyes and hearing a deep growl? The only thing that I would have liked more than this is if you had actually put three heads. ^^

Solid manipulation! I like it a lot.
One thing to look out for--if you turn up the contrast on your monitor, you'll see some smudging in the black background; it's difficult to see but good to try and catch.
I'm really digging the fiery eyes!

It helps if you tilt the laptop screen backwards, so it's a wide angle and you're viewing the picture from the bottom. It's not really a big deal any way, most people won't be able to see it.

1, 2, 3... Awwwww! So cute! It's probably possible to ignore the demonic glowing eyes and give this guy a big cuddle.
Great photo-manip, I think it works well and looks so convincing because it's relatively simple in composition and the dark tones really add to the mysteriousness of the whole image.
