Description The first of my 10 anthro challenge. I'm doing these in pencil because the idea is to learn how to -draw- new species, right? Not colour... I like to think I can already colour fairly well, so I'll work on my outlining and sketching and poses and such while I do these.

This is 's Spotted Cuscus. Those... are some strange looking animals XD unfortunately I did a horrible job representing them... I tried my best, but I'm just not very good at different species yet. =/ Maybe the next one will come out better. D:

Sorry I couldn't do a better job of getting your little animal to look like itself there, Peachfuzz. I like the picture in and of itself for the most part, but it just... it's going to take some practice to get me away from making things look like foxes I suspect.

I love how you did the fur and face! For a new species you draw, you did very well ^^

Wow, nice work on this, interesting looking critter. Nice work with the posing on this one and great looking details and shading.

i think you did a great job of changing the species! It doesn't look much like a fox at all - especially since you anthropomorphize these characetrs, any distinctive features in the body get lost, so the face is the primary source of info.

Yeah, that's my trouble with these, the way I draw them is mostly human except the feet (which I never change from species to species anyway, unless it's way different), the tail and the face, so there's not a lot to work with for me. it's a challange. Good to hear I'm not doing too bad a job Thanks!

Seems like you did a good job (representation-wise) where the hands/feet were concerned; I think maybe if there had been less segmenting de la fur on the tail it'd also have been closer.
(But what the hell do I know? S'not like I branch out species-wise much either. XD)
In any case, the pic itself's pretty sweet.

Hrm... yeah, I knew something was off about the tail. I got impatient Thanks though :3

Ah, so cool! She doesn't look exactly like a spotted cuscus, but she's definitely different from anything you've ever done. The eyes are much rounder than you usually draw, which really gives her a look more like a cuscus than a fox. The thick, coiled tail and tree she's clinging to are also give-aways for anyone familiar with these animals. The hands look just right, with the fur seeming to end on the fingers. That's exactly how cuscus paws look. I like the claws on her foot, too. Nice work softly showing the patterns on her body, as well.

Great job. This is awesome and I definitely think you've made some head-way with drawing new types of animals. The black and white also shows that your shading is pretty solid.

Thanks, William, I love it!

Hahah, wow, what a comment. I knew there was a reason I missed you XD

Thanks so much. I know I've still got a long way to go, but hopefully I'll have a bit more variety by the time this is through. 'Twas a really good idea

I'm also glad to hear I didn't do too bad a job with the representation after all. The head's going to be the hardest thing for me to learn to draw differently, I think, but hopefully I can figure it out by challenges end. Thanks a bunch <^^>
