It's beautiful, but if I may, don't mind it too much because this piece is wow, you're better than me in painting, but I still saw some flaws in your painting.

The colors.. they don't mix.. I meant, the pallette you used isn't pleasing to the eye. The bright green grass and the grayish horse with the Pink hair isn't good to look at. . . My advice is to learn more about the color theory, and you'll truly get better in art!

Like the others have said, and I agree - Ruan Jia is incredible at bending the rules of color theory and it's a bit condescending to say he should learn color theory in order to "truly get better at art". His work is amazingly detailed and the colorwork is just mindblowing and really stands out. If anything I believe the rest of us should learn from him. It's definitely important to learn color theory but artists like him have gotten past that point a long time ago. I would guess he makes every color he uses a conscious decision considering the amount of time he's known to spend on paintings.

That's not to say we can't critique masters! But I don't think color use is something Ruan Jian should really be criticized for. You may disagree with what looks aesthetically pleasing to your eye, but that's really a personal preference.

its kind of what differentiate his artworks from the rest, true they may not mix with the other backgrounds and may seem too colorful butΒ  it does take a lot of practice and talent to be able bend those colors with the backgroundsΒ

honestly I think the flashy iridescence of colors are what makes RuanJia's work so special and unique, if everybody followed the rules then art would be boring
