I shouldn't nitpick, but I'm thinking maybe the Ruby doesn't quite belong in this picture? Since it is in the picture I'd like to say that you painted it beautifully.

Backgrounds are important, even so always underestimated, however i´m interested on the mid tones to make the character look realistic.

I wonder how many people, after seeing this, are actually going to read The Sandman series. Regardless, this is beautifully done, you didn't quite manage the starlight eyes, but still really good. Is that Matthew in the background or just a random crow/raven?

I tried the classic interpretation of the starlight eyes, but they seem to have been designed for inked artwork. I decided to take a risk here.
