Powers/abilities: Spike is a normal guy with no special power and all that jazz. The only power he relies on are his strong arms! He has more of a boxing fighter style, so he uses his fists more rather than his legs. One good hit with these steel arms of his and he could possibly knock you out. He holds a lot of power and strength in those arms. His power definitely ranks out his speed for sure.

Health: Spike is generally healthy! The only exception are his arms. He has to be careful and get regular check-ups for them.

Spike is a very easygoing and friendly guy! He is a people person, so he is naturally an extrovert. He’s very sweet, kind and an optimist! His smile and laugh are contagious, it’d be hard to not be happy around him. His personality is like a warm scarf! Spike is a very affectionate person in general, so he isn’t afraid to show his love for someone whether it’s through meaningful words or loving embraces.
Now, that warm scarf can be a bit cold sometimes, especially if you mess with his friends/family. He is definitely the dad friend of the group, so he’s very protective over those he idolizes and cares for. He won’t hesitate on giving you the meanest scolding of a lifetime. When he scolds, he’s scary and Spike being the tallest out of the four doesn’t help.

Spike’s Biography:
Spike was born on May 20th XXXX, he was born a healthy and happy baby boy. His parents were ecstatic for their first newborn. He was absolutely adored by his family. He was a normal kid growing up, his parents made sure he had the greatest memories during his childhood. (Out of the main four, he’s the closest to his parents). By the time Spike was old enough to go to school, he was dreading it. He wanted to stay with his parents and didn’t want to leave them.

During his first couple days of Kindergarten, kids began poking fun at him. They made fun of his name (Spinel) and his unusual height for a Woodland Hedgehog. He didn’t know what to do, so he’d just take it. This bullying continued, but Spike didn’t bother telling anyone about it. One school day, there was a new student (Dusk Hunter) who was going to be attending their class. Spike didn’t feel alone once he laid eyes on the new student, as that kid was almost the same height. The new student took the seat next to him and introduced himself. They quickly became friends and often played during recess. Dusk helped ward off bullies as he never left Spike’s side.

The two boys became inseparable and Spike would often invite Dusk over his house after school. Spike’s parents enjoyed Dusk being around and they often spoiled both of the kids. Third grade came rolling in and Spike was waiting for Dusk before school started. A group of kids spotted Spike and began making fun of him. Sapphire was strolling by with guards by her side and she saw Spike in trouble. She stepped in and helped him up. They both conversed for a bit and she had said that she wanted to be friends with him. He agreed and off Sapphire went, he was absolutely star struck. At this point, he had already developed feelings for both Sapphire and Dusk.

He told his parents that he was conflicted, that he had feelings for both of his friends. His parents smiled and gave him the best advice possible. He grew up being closer to Sapphire and Dusk, he decided to not pursue either of his friends as he enjoyed their company. During middle school, Dusk became more distant till he never came back to school. Without warning he had left Spike on his own, this broke him and he always dreamed he’d bump into Dusk again. He visited Sapphire more often as he didn’t have Dusk with him anymore.

One day he was visiting Sapphire at the Gem Palace, he noticed a little girl (Ruby Gemstone) peering down at him from the staircase with curiosity. He managed to get her come down the stairs and introduce herself. She revealed to him that she was a Gemstone as well. He remembered what he was taught in school, as very kid was taught, that if anyone sees something suspicious they have to speak up. Sapphire had walked back into the room to find Ruby out of her room. Spike confronted Sapphire. She begged him not to say a word, he was hesitant as he was afraid of losing her as well. The King and Queen were brought to the situation and sat down with Spike. He promised he would keep Ruby’s secret. After that incident, Spike wanted to know more about Ruby. It didn’t take long for them to become friends, and he took care of Ruby like if she was his little sister.

From that day forth, the three would always play together. When Spike was in eighth grade, Sapphire became more annoyed of her sister and wanted to hang out with Spike more. They both went outside to play where they knew Ruby couldn’t follow and played tag outside in the fields. Spike wasn’t watching where he was going, he tripped and landed on his stomach with his arms stretched out into a toxic plant. His arms began to react quickly and the skin on his arms painfully bubbled up. Sapphire acted quickly and got Spike help. By the time he reached the hospital, his arms were black, blistered up and useless. He had to get his arms amputated. He was devastated and in so much pain, his parents often took him for physical therapy to help him get back to his life again.

High school came by and Spike was nervous going into school with his newly built arms that Sapphire had made herself. He was very insecure about his image and feared getting bullied again. Things turned out well for him in high school though, he began dating other people, joined clubs, achieved good grades, and made friends. During his junior year, he and Sapphire began dating, he was at his happiest. He graduated high school and immediately began working for his parents grocery store. He was also being trained to be a King in training at the same time, so his plate was full. Life was great for him and he was comfortable where he was.

The day of Sapphire’s ceremony, Spike was quickly trying to wrap up the store by himself, so he could go home and get ready for the ceremony. He was by himself as his parents had left to visit family at the Industrial Planet. He was storing dry storage in the basement of their store till he noticed that sky had turned a dark and menacing grey. He saw the Gem Palace had completely turned to ice and he instantly knew it was Sapphire. He quickly hid in the underground storage room and locked it. He waited for the ice to completely freeze over till he felt it was safe to come out. He ran all the way to the Gem Palace, desperate to see if everyone was okay. He was able to find Sapphire, but he saw a dreadful scene. He was in pure terror, a million questions and emotions came through him, but his priority was Sapphire. He trying to get Sapphire to wake up and explain the situation. He felt so lost and didn’t know what to do.
