I know her fur is supposed to be very smooth and silk-like, but in this drawing style, that makes her look a bit bald in some panels like the first two for example. Unfortunately, I don't see a solution to this except changing the style completely.

I think there is actually. I've still not wrapped my head around Judy and how to draw her, but I think the top of her head is not as flat as Nick's, it just looks like that when she's seen from a destinctive angle with her eyebrows up or something.
