I had been complaining about the annoyance of Elizabeth Swan - how she is just amazing at everything she tries for the first time and how everyone loves her practically on site. My friend then pointed out to me that I was missing the point if I was watching Pirates of the Caribbean for the Plot. It's all about the eye candy.

hehe, well i'll admit, ive seen all films and struggled to follow the plot in every one i have a short attention span when it comes to films, if it's longer than an hour and half i get incredibly bored and fidgetty was hell when i saw POTC2 in the cinema

The first one was fine. After that, it seems like the whole point is to let the world know of Elizabeth's awesomeness. X_x Seriously - she pirates better than people at it for many more years than her, everyone loves her, she's beautiful but of course, she has eyes only for one. Her biggest fault is of course the fact that so many love her. *Rolls eyes* What the hell ever! X_x

I can sit through long films if they're engaging. These were not. Mind you, without her, I think I could have liked them

hahaa i get what you mean, when she tries to be tough it cringes me out, female pirates are supposed to have attitude, she's just a fussy snobby little girl wearing women's boots... and not very well!

Not very well at all. Thing is, could they have chosen ANYONE who was less suited to play the part of a tough pirate? One push and she'd fall over...yet we're supposed to believe she's strong enough to take down the toughest pirates...of course, I forgot...she has the power of her BEAUTY!

lol, i never had that much angst about her which is weird cos i'm usually very angsty indeed it's funny you hate her so much but i do completely agree, she's not even that pretty she's bony and pointy, her hips will poke my eyes out O_O what happened to squishy ladies

I don't hate her so much as think she's rather wrong in the role. I dunno, she looks as though a strong breeze would blow her over - while all the other women are solid... I guess that's the Mary-Sue thing though - she really stands out amongst them. But sooo bizarre. Squishy ladies are at least believable.

Seriously, aren't pirates all about the 'good life'? Eating, drinking...how could she stay so THIN?
