What rank of elite are we talking about here? How experienced of a hunter is the predator?
A minor elite(blue armor) vs a recently blooded (recently graduated pred "high school") predator. I would say predator, because minor elites tend to be overly aggressive while the pred would have the advantage of surprise due his cloaking device.
However
An elite ultra or zealot vs an honored elder predator? I would say elite because not only does he have incredible strong shields, he'sΒ more careful an cunning. As well as holding the advantage a range due to his plasma rifle, and in short range due to his energy sword.

My knee-jerk reaction is to say "Elite!" Then I consider that Predators literally hunt the Aliens for sport, so I switch to "Predator!"... Then, of course, I consider Elites and their sheer tenacity as a species, so I'm gonna go with "A: Elite! Final answer."

honestly, My money's on any elite. Simply cause of the tech they have at a basic level; Energy shields plus metal armour, Plasma based blades, etc...
I mean an energy sword will cleave right through a preds wrist blades AND then what ever else is in the way.
Respect to the preds and all, but thats where I stand.

The Elites can bring up a standing army, while the Predators can only send a three squad kill team with sh!t ton of equipment.

It depends on which class of Elite vs which class of Predator. If we pit a Clan Leader (highest class of Predator that can still fight) against a Councilor, the Councilor wins. Coucilors are trained warriors, have better weapons, are faster and stronger than Predators, and their shields can take a shit ton more damage than Predators would be able to dish out.
