Shh, that's a secret! But yes, that is what it is~
Haha, well, pictures like these either drag on forever or are just not long enough. I think that mostly depends on the fans in the audience/taking pictures XD

I imagine it takes a while to get all the cosplayers of a certain kind together, especially when there's a large group of them. But hopefully you still had fun doing them?

Usually it's just a matter of not hearing the announcement of your country. You have one person yelling over the masses, which sometimes means you don't hear it for awhile. I've also noticed length of time of each group sometimes is dependent too on how many people are up there. So when there are 1273457354 Americas vs. 3 Chinas, the America group will have say, two minutes vs. a minute. That I think is fair...but it does suck if you're either in a small group (who isn't doing much in terms of interacting together...that usually happens more in the pairings though XD), alone and not comfortable with photos (the Taiwan in our photoshoot was an excellent example of 'working it' while being completely alone...she was fantastic and fun to photograph), or in a HUGE group with little chance of being noticed.
I think our group size was a good one...it was just the old person in me going "OKAY YOU GOT YOUR FUDGETON OF PHOTOS NOW STEP OFF LET'S GO LET'S GOOOOOO" even though it had only been like, fifteen seconds at most XD

While yes, the uniforms in the picture are based off the uniforms worn during the Cultural Revolution, their colors have been altered, in order to be potentially less offensive. The uniforms in the Cultural Revolution were tan, if that gives you a point of reference.
You have no idea how many times I've been called 'Mao' at a con out of ignorance of this fact. XD
