Autumn is here once again and so is my yearly autumn inspired piece.I went with a more natural motif this time around for my White Wolf in Blue.
As always, I strive to figure out ways to make my art self-frame itself by finding different ways to use the empty or negative space of the paper. I am very impressed with this one and I think I was successful in that respect.

Funny thing is I showed this piece to a friend of mine near its completion and he told me “Wow Russell This is a bit more sexual and suggestive then your usual works” I’ll had to agree with him on that lol. While drawing it I didn’t really think it was very sexual but I guess after studying Human anatomy for so long you sort of get used to seeing it.
I think I was still able to keep it viewer friendly even with its unintentional sexual overtones. It’s perhaps borderline PG13 where it stands currently. Sexual overtones aside I still really love how this piece came out conceptually!

I think one thing your friend is seeing, much as I am, is how you are advancing as an artist. Expanding into artistic nudes is a fine step. Nudes, as you can easily guess, doesn't bother me a bit. It's when something is done in a pornographic way; either just to be porn, is when it's not art. Maybe the idea is that your not sticking with your principles, and making porn just because you can.
I think of all the great artists; Leonardo, Deletrux, Ruben, Titan. They didn't make porn; they made art. Even their nudes was artistic, for it depicted the nude form, and made it beautiful. Even Reuben, who was quite enthralled with the fuller figured woman painted them accurately. Not like many who takes women and hyper-sizes their breasts, or rump.
Your picture here was art, beautifully rendered and natural.. You made the wolf form, into a beautiful female, very sweet and gentle. I could easily see coming up to her, share a smile, as I admire her beauty. She being very gentle, and friendly; not dangerous or evil.
